It’s that time of the year again when, if you are near a computer, you can find hours of showcase/promo mixes, to showcase DJs talents and to get people to vote for them for the DJ Mag Top 100. This year, I haven’t voted. Why? Well, because I couldn’t be arsed, and I simply forgot about it. I would have voted, but you’ll never know who for. It’s not one of the easiest things to do, because there are a billion DJs, and they are all good, some better, but if you think for a second, can you name five, and give a reason why these 5 stand out? And after voting last year and previous years I always got annoyed with myself for choosing someone, and regretting it, because someone else should have received my vote. See my problem? It’s not easy. Still much easier to vote for a politician, all of them let you down. You can never have any regrets after voting, because they won’t change.

This year the results will be announced on the 18th of October, which obviously means that you can’t vote anymore. Your time has passed, you should have been online a couple of months ago, and voted. DJ Coone was just in time with his promo mix, to get people to hurry up with voting, and to make sure that his name would appear on many peoples lists. Unless you don’t like and love Hardstyle. If Hardstyle isn’t your thing, this mix isn’t your cup of tea. But why not open up your heart, and listen with your ears, and give it a go?

If you think that Paris Hilton plays hard music, please go away. Leave this planet right now. You have no reason to stay here.

DJ Coone uploaded this mix a month ago, and it has passed the 70k plays already. The world has been taken by storm, Hardstyle isn’t just a phenomena, it’s a way of living. And there are many DJs who are keeping the sound alive, and one of them is Coone. During this mix you can hear his story, throughout the intro and throughout ‘Magical’. If you want to know more about this DJ (if you haven’t heard about him already), check out his website.

This mix is not just a mix, it’s a megamix. 23 of Coone – related tracks (made or remixed by him). A showcase of his talents.

23. Coone feat Kritikal – Zombie Killer

There’s a lot of Coone in this mix. My eyes do hurt a bit. Coone here and there. Sweet Lord. But that’s what you get, if you make a showcase mix, DJs don’t play other people’s tunes, but only their own productions. And the productions are good!

The quality of Coone’s mixing can be heard throughout the mix. It’s one solid mix. Never a dull moment, he knows exactly how to please the listeners. And with this mix he received more people’s votes, and I reckon he will appear high on the DJ Mag Top 100 this year.

A few tunes aren’t my cup of tea, and it’s basically everything that Steve Aoki has worked or co-produced. I’m not a fan of this man, never liked his stuff at all, so the tunes Coone has selected, aren’t my thing at all.

All the other tunes do make me bounce up and down pretty hard. Violently? Nope, not at all. More calm but excited. Like a kid in a toy store. There are a couple of amazing tunes, such as ‘Survival Of The Fittest’, ‘World Domination’ and more. If you love Hardstyle, make sure you download this mix. I wish I could say ‘vote for Coone’, but you can’t anymore. Maybe next year. Make sure you vote for him next year, if you haven’t this year!

After browsing for yet another few hours, I found this mix, and I really wanted to share it with you all. Already the amount of listeners who pressed play are high, but there’s always room for more people to hear it. Adam M’s ‘Hard Mix 2014′, which you can find, as usual, on Soundcloud, but also on Mixcloud. 4000+ listeners, I reckon thousands of downloads, and many people sharing this mix already: it’s hard to miss this mix.

Hardhouse is still alive and kicking, and this mix shows us all why it’s still an amazing sound. It’s actually timeless, hasn’t changed much since it emerged out of nowhere. I remember the good ol’ days, when it first appeared on several albums/compilations, I was hooked from day one. The sound appealed to me a lot, and compilation after compilation joined my already huge CD collection. Don’t ask me why or how, but the Dutch music industry seemed to have lost interest in it, and it faded away, and so did my enthusiasm for it. Little did I know that the scene stayed alive and kicking, mainly in the United Kingdom. After the internet exploded upon us, I realised that the scene hadn’t faded away, and there were still many artists involved, keeping the sound alive. One of them is Adam M, who I’ve never heard of before, but it’s never too late to hallucinate, eh?

Even though I don’t know a single thing about the DJ, it’s all about the music, and the music is good. Anyone interested in a tracklist?

01. SFX – Making Me Itch
02. Base Graffiti – Freestyle House (Engineers Revenge)
03. Defective Audio – Sling Shot
04. JX – Son Of A Gun (Adam M Re-hash)
05. Billy ‘Daniel’ Bunter & Andy Farley – Drop That Beat
06. Adam M – Master Blaster
07. Mike Taylor & Wayne Smart – Bad To The Bone
08. Mike Taylor – Snatch
09. Gilly – Kinetic
10. Wayne Smart – Fake Pill
11. Beauty & The Beast – Hardcore Krew
12. Leon Allen – The Prankster
13. Justin Bourne & Dynamic Intervention – Work It (Wayne Smart Remix)
14. Discam & Mylo R – Shindig
15. Jonah – Shhh Listen (Adam M Remix)
16. Matt Mara – Checa Esto
17. Tony De Vit – I Don’t Care (Stephen Walker Bootleg)
18. Adam M & Tenchy – Tech-No Prisoners
19. Adam M – The Juggernaut

By just looking at the tracklist you won’t feel its greatness, but this mix is really great! I’m not familiar with many of the names, there are one or two I do know (Billy Bunter, Tony De Vit, and ofcourse Adam M), but the music speaks for itself.

The whole mix is pure genius. Never a dull moment, always grabs your throat, and doesn’t let you go. Powerful and very catchy stuff. Hardhouse at its finest. I do love his own productions in this mix, and he has added a few into it, which have made me bouncy and stomp extremely hard, I woke up the neighbours. My neighbours are not happy with me, but sod them, they should have moved when they had the chance!

This mix is interesting, and my ‘favourite Hardhouse DJ’ list has a new name on it: Adam M. Hopefully when I review a mix by this man in the near future I will have more information to share with you all (his birthplace, his pinnumber, his pants size etc), but for now we should let the music do the talking.

Share this with all your mates, and piss off your neighbours. It’s what Adam M wanted.

DJ Delite – Raver Queen October Event Mix Bag Mix (2014)

Delite is back with yet another mix. This time it’s a promo mix for an event which will take place on the 18th of October in Stoke On Trent, and the event is called ‘RaverQueen – The Big Reunion’. Yes, it’s a UK Hardcore party, but the dresscode is Disney. Don’t ask me why or how, but you’ve got to be dressed as a Disney character. I reckon that most women will be dressed as the princess from Frozen, and most DJs will play a UK Hardcore version of that movie. Expect madness, and all for free! You want to know the line-up? Joey Riot & MC Thunda, Marc Smith vs Nizzle & Unity MC, Denzo & Wotsee, MOTNS Showcase, Shax & Rainah B2B LeggettB2B Mono, DJC & Octane, MPH B2B Nelza & Crunchy B2B Kalibar, Ripps B2B Danii & Jack, and ofcourse DJ Pegsy B2B Delite & Sid P. What a line-up, and you don’t need to spend money to get in, you only need to spend money at the bar.

The line-up is ridicilous, the entrance fee is gorgeous, and the mix Delite made too. He decided to mix a couple of new tracks from various styles/genres. 22 amazing tracks by amazing and talented producers such as Darren Styles, Joey Riot, Re-Con, and more. He knows exactly what to play, to get the people hyped up to the max. One talented DJ, one of TCD’s most favourite DJs of all time, a true hero. It’s nice to hear something new and fresh by the man himself, Delite never disappoints at all.

Anyone interested in a fancy tracklist? You can only look at it if you are dressed as Nemo, or as Cinderella.

01. Skrillex – Holding On (Nero Mix – Intro)
02. Darren Styles & Modulate – To The Stars
03. Michael Scout, Brad Sure, Breeze & Katie Halliday – Summer Rain

05. Joey Riot – Don’t Hold The Animals
06. Joey Riot – Booya
07. Technical Difficulties – Tears You Up
08. Technical Difficulties & Coretek – You Said You
09. Joey Riot – Thriller
10. Dougal & Gammer – Best Of You
11. Nero & Skrillex – Promises (Gammer Mix)
12. Re-Con – Scared
13. Darren Styles – Getting Better (Gammer Update)
14. Scott Brown & Cat Knight – All About You (Breeze & Styles Mix)
15. Breeze & Styles – Heartbeatz (Supreme & MOB Remix)
16. Gammer & Michael Scout – Bye Bye
17. Sy & Technikore – Calling Your Name
18. Darren Styles – Satellite (Update)
19. Styles & Breeze – Your Shining (Petruccio & Modulate Remix)
20. Apollo – Dance (Re-Con Remix)
21. Hypasonic vs Jorg Schmid – Doesn’t Matter (Squad-E vs Re-Con Remix)
22. Darren Styles – You & I (Da Tweekaz Remix)

What a splendid mix. Rather unusual mix, seeing as Delite mixes mostly Oldskool mixes. But not saying this is shite, not at all! Quite suprising to hear this mix, it shows how diverse and versatile Delite is.

He has chosen many amazing tracks, tracks that make the dancefloors turn into moulted lava, and the people dancing on top of it dance like it’s the end of the world. Banging tracks, absolutely true. I do love his selection, he’s got a good pair of ears, mr Delite.

One track will not appear in my all time favourite list, it will mostly appear in my ‘this is shite’ list, and that’s ‘Animals’ and each and every remix there has been made. I dislike the original track, and there hasn’t been a version that made the sickening taste in my mouth disappear. This revolting track has the power to make people sick, it does.

A good mix, with one ‘meh’ track. Banging mix. Good mixing skills, and 21 amazing tracks. Love Delite’s work, and if you have got time in October to go to RaverQueen’s event, I think you should. It’s for free, and Delite’s going to be there. He’ll never disappoint you, trust me. As long as he doesn’t play ‘Animals’, everything’s fine.

Fine mix. Delite’s finest mix so far.

The internet is filled with hours of music, and if you look closely, you will find awesome mixes, and that’s what we all want. Yesterday, after browsing for hours, I found this mix, made by Andy The Core, a mix dedicated to the awesome Hardcore years between 2006 and 2009. Some say that they are the best years, some say that the 90s were the best. I would say they are both good, around 2006 I fell in love with Hardcore yet again, Around 2000 the music scene completely changed, the people changed, the whole outcome was dreadful. The music went back underground again, and the majority decided to abandon ship. I was one of them, I wasn’t pleased with the direction the sound was going, but I still listened to the 90s Hardcore again and again. My enthusiasm returned around 2005, just in time to witness the resurrection of Hardcore. Hardcore slowely started to be appreciated yet again by the majority. I opened my mind yet again for the music, and I embraced it with both arms. The result? Well, I was born a raver, and I will die a raver. Where would I be without Hardcore?

Andy The Core is name that I’ve seen on the internet, but never heard before, or seen before at a rave. He’s an Italian Industrial Hardcore/Hardcore DJ and producer, and he’s co-owner of Digital Plague Records. His tracks have been released on many labels, and 11K+ fans seem to adore everything what he does. His name does ring a bell, yet he’s a bit of a mystery to me. Thank God for the internet, for giving us all the information we need, eh? What I do know, is that he’s a Hardcore DJ, and that’s all we need to know. If you love Hardcore, you are one of us. On his Soundcloud page, he added above the tracklist that he made this mix to remember some tunes from the past he loved. Damn right, it’s jam packed with awesome tunes. It might be completely different to what he plays now, but we share a mutual love for Hardcore, and if you see the tracklist, your jaw will drop! 2 1/2 hour of Hardcore madness, name another DJ who uploads a mix longer than an hour/ 1 1/2 hour!

A big tracklist. Want to see it?

An amazing looking tracklist! I know each and every track, which is impressive to start with. And I love most of them to be honest, there are a few here and there which are a bit meh. But on the whole this is quite impressive, this tracklist!

I reckon, because Andy The Core is Italian, that his roots are the main reason why you find a lot of Italian tracks in here (made by Italian producers). Tracks by Mad Dog, Amnesys, Art Of Fighters, The Stunned Guys, and the list goes on. He’s a huge fan of the Italian side of Hardcore, and we can’t blame him for that: the Italians have done so much to the Hardcore scene, we love the Italians a lot. I do love Italian Hardcore a lot, just my cup of tea!

There are several moments during the mix where the tracks skip a lot, not skipping a lot, but microseconds. Maybe the scratches on the discs have ruined them, or maybe there was a recording error, but it has ruined a couple of amazing tracks. And the mixing at certain moments isn’t gorgeous, but then again, it’s f**king Hardcore, it’s not made to be nice, it’s made to be nasty. But if you are as picky as I am, it’s quite annoying. It doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does, you will hear it. Shame really, because it’s a good mix. With these small errors it doesn’t become a shite mix, it’s still banging though. He still get’s a high score, because it doesn’t happen very often.

A good mix, make sure you download it, and witness the strength of Hardcore from the golden years 2006 until 2009. Can’t believe time has flown by so quickly: it was only yesterday to me.

Andy The Core, a name you should follow. A name you should bookmark in your thick skull. But I reckon you have already done that.
