Soundcloud is the website everyone should go to at least once a day. I do that multiple times a day, and sometimes I do find something good. Most of the times it’s basically crap what you find on it, but every so often you find something so underrated and so good, you wonder why not many people have listened to it so far. One of those underrated mixes was made by DJ Ben Manic, a nice promo mix called ‘Hardcore Mix June 2015′. This is a mix you don’t want to miss.

A promo mix for only the lovers of UK Hardcore. If you are loving the vibes this DJ is spreading with this mix, you can also check him out at Powercore: Summer Stomp. He plays there, and the line-up is huge: Mob, Al Storm, Jekyll, Fallon, Thumpa, Bubble, Demize, Konekshon, Reflux, Ziyad, Blocadini and loads more. To get everyone excited for this event, and to showcase his talents as a DJ, he has uploaded this wonderful mix, filled with ‘cheesy vocal tracks, old and new’. Check out the tracklist, it’s worth a look.

Quosh Records. One of the biggest and most influential labels in the UK Hardcore scene. This label doesn’t need an introduction at all, the label that brought us many awesome tunes and memorable classic anthems for many years. The two people behind the label were Sy and Unknown, and sadly we all know what happened between them. The label doesn’t release any music whatsoever anymore, and the website has been taken off air. Whatever happened isn’t our thing to judge, but only the music that was released on one of the biggest labels.  To showcase their love for the label Stu Woods and MC Thunda decided to make a dedication mix, with only tunes from the mighty label Quosh.

These two other artists do not need an introduction either, they are the legendary MC Thunda and Stu Woods. One is signed to Lethal Theory, and the other has a radio show on Alive 107.3 FM. Already earned their respect, and I think it’s the first time that these two have come together and made magic. Their dedication mix is a sweet one, so many great anthems are selected from the golden decade of Quosh, 2002 to 2012. Two other artists have helped Stu and Thunda, making this mix even better: Haywire did a bit of scratching like Sy, and Lady Dubbz wrote the intro. The result is an astonishing mix, a proper UK Hardcore mix.

The tracklist is something you definately need to see!

coollogo_com-187141957

01. Expression & GBH – Night Time (Sy & Unknown Remix)
02. Sy & Unknown – Aural Illusion
03. DJ Kambel – No More Jokin’ (Sy & Unknown Remix)
04. Gammer – Kick In The Bass Drum
05. Sy & Unknown – Sounds Of The Underground
06. DJ Kurt – Break The Law
07. Joey Riot – Hardcore 2 Da Bone
08. DJ Kurt – U Wanna Rock?
09. Sy & Unknown – I Feel On Fire
10. Sy & Unknown – Make It Bounce
11. Sy & Unknown – Break The Spell
12. Dab Hands – Super Good (Sy & Unknown Remix)
13. Sy & Unknown – Gangsta
14. Sy & Re-Con – Meatfeast
15. Sy & Technikore – Thuggin  Til I Die

Look at these tracks! These will bring a smile back on your face. How influential this label has been to the scene is probably underrated. They’ve released so many great anthems, and were the first to reach a hundred releases on their label. Quosh was and still is a much loved label, and if you were a fan of Quosh, check this mix out.

Stu Woods has picked the finest tracks, and the mix is seriously good. Really good to hear those anthems again. It’s been a while since we last heard a proper Quosh mix. Stu Woods destroys our speakers, anthem after anthem. Not only tracks made by UK Hardcore legends Sy and Unknown, but also by Gammer, Joey Riot, Kurt and more. But it’s mainly about Sy and Unknown, their musical imput has changed us all, made us all aware of what UK Hardcore is to all of us. Play a Quosh record in any set, and the crowd will go mental. I reckon you are listening to this right now, and loosing your sh*t. They still work, Quosh is timeless.

Thunda is the microphone abuser, and he does his thing well. He does exactly what a well respected MC should do, and his vocal qualities are impressive. Always been one of my favourite MCs of all time, and during this mix he does everything well. Not annoying, not a nuisance, he does everything right. Stu Woods and MC Thunda, a proper combination! They should work more often.

Favourite track? ‘Super Good’ is truly one of Quosh’s best releases ever. Disagree? You can, but choose any other song as your favourite, and you aren’t Quosh enough!

A wicked mix. Takes me back to the golden decade, the 10 years in which Quosh dominated everything. A decade later there are two names who dominate the UK Hardcore scene, and they are Stu Woods and MC Thunda. Excellent mix!

On the 19th, 20th and 21st of June there was really one place to be at, and that was at the EDC in Las Vegas. As many have been there and witnessed the madness, slowely you will find livesets on Soundcloud/Mixcloud from the DJs who performed there. And as usual, the artist list is immense! If I had to type the whole bloody thing, I would still be typing next wednesday. Let me name just a few, and I do mean a few, because the list is seriously long: Kaskade, Steve Angello, Cosmic Gate, Armin van Buuren, Isaac, Fatboy Slim, EZ, Jazzy Jeff, Afrojack, Technoboy, Moby, Flux Pavilion, Dash Berlin, and the list goes on and on. If you were there, you were experiencing one amazing party. You must have had the time of your life. One of the first sets to appear on my timeline was a set by UMEK, the legendary DJ from Slovenia.

This DJ doesn’t need an introduction. Basically, if you appear on an EDC flyer, you have made it as a DJ, and UMEK is one of those DJs who should not be introduced, because we all know him already. He has won several awards for being the ‘Best Techno DJ’, he’s the man behind Consumer Recreation, 1605 and Recycled Loops, and he’s been in the game since 1993. Enough information for you there. His ‘Essential Mix’ has never left my phone since it was uploaded a long time ago, and it still makes me move whenever I hear it. This man lives, breathes and basically IS Techno. Guess what kind of music he plays at the EDC? You’re right, Techno. He’s the King of Techno, and the set is magical.

The tracklist was added, which is always a bonus. You need to look at this, because it will blow your mind away. The tracks are good, the mixing is excellent, and the result is you regretting not buying tickets for the EDC. You should have been there, to see whoever you wanted to see, but only one name should be on your wishlist: UMEK.

This is an amazing mix. Don’t look any further, you have found one of the most epic mixes of 2015! If you were there at the EDC and you’ve seen UMEK, you saw the master at work. Absolutely amazing liveset, it has to be said.

A flawless set. The master was definately at work, doing what he does best. The result is one beautifully made liveset, no errors of any sort. 16 amazing and breathtakingly beautiful tracks, carefully selected and mixed by UMEK, what else do we want?

16 tracks in one mix, and if I’m honest, I can’t pick a favourite. I simply can’t, because they are all solid. A fine selection of tracks, mr UMEK. If this doesn’t or hasn’t made you more, nothing will. You ain’t Techno if this ain’t your cup of tea.

UMEK is a boss. I think I said enough there. This man doesn’t need an introduction, nor does this mix. Download this right now, put it on your mobile device, plug in your headphones and crank the volume up, to the max. Let UMEK’s set destroy your eardrums. For once it will be a pleasure to play music out loud!

A month ago I was browsing Soundcloud as I normally do, and I was looking for a proper liveset, and found one. A rather long one, and the person who performed was Justin Jay. In all honesty, I have never heard of this man before, but by judging the amount of Facebook likes he has, I’m probably the only one who didn’t knew who he was. It took me a while to listen to it fully, and a recent trip back from the UK made it possible for me to listen to it constantly. The journey from Calais to where I live is around 3 1/2 hours and this mix 2 1/2 hours, so I had plenty of time to listen and enjoy. And I enjoyed myself, the journey was much more pleasant.

When I pressed play for the first time, I wasn’t ready for this amount of House-ness. Fully unaware of the artist and where it was recorded, but after some browsing I found out who the artist is, and the vent he played at. Let’s talk about the artist, if you were like me, unaware of him. His name is Justin Jay, and according to the internet he’s an DJ and producer from Los Angeles, California. His Facebook page info section is quite short, but the most important thing for you all to know is that his influences are Daft Punk, Claude VonStroke and Rachmaninoff. The first two I’m familiar with, the last one I’m not. But the first two count, eh?

The event he played at is called ‘Desert Hearts’. 4.6k people went to it, and it lasted 3 days. The event presented hours of House, Techno & Love. Justin Jay was one of the headline acts, and he delivered a truly amazing set, which you can download right now. If you love House this is a must have set. A wide range of styles are played, from Electro House to Funky House to Deep House. Let me warn you, this liveset will blow your mind away, and will leave you breathless.

This mix blew me away! Seriously insane mix! It’s just too damn perfect! I fell in love from the first time I heard it, and now I’ve finally listened to it continuously, it has become my favourite House liveset of all time! Look at the amount of awesome tunes! This man knows House, and his passion for it is contagious! I couldn’t stop wiggling and wobbling around in my car during my journey. And secretly I still do it.

There are too many great anthems to mention, or to pick as favourite. The ones that really blew me away were the following: ‘Diamonds’, ‘Make A Cake’, ‘Karma’, ‘Equinox’, ‘Revolution 909’, ‘Brother Piña’, …. and the list goes on! So many great tunes did Justin Jay play, the crowd went mental (you can hear it throughout the set). And they aren’t the only ones, I’ve gone completely ballistic. I never heard of Justin Jay, but he’s gained another Facebook fan! What an excellent set, pure House from the first to the last second. No mucking about, pure music.

Justin Jay, you are a superstar! Already a House legend! Brilliant set.
