This is a set many have talked about before it took place. It’s one of the biggest moments in the UK Hardcore scene. To actually make it extremely big, there’s no other place to make it big than the Netherlands, and to play at the biggest event there is, has got to be the dopest thing that has happened to Darren Styles! He’s played all over the world, but to finally get acknowledge for his skills as a producer and a DJ in the Netherlands, that’s something we’ve all been dreaming off. To finally get UK Hardcore global on a big scale, that’s just the dream.

So this year he was asked to play alongside Tweekacore at Defqon.1, and the set can now be found on Soundcloud. Videos did emerge, but we are all Soundcloud fans. And for those who are cheapskates (mainly Dutch people, we like things for free), it’s now downloadable. And yes, for free. You get an hour of their set, with a lot of awesome UK Hardcore and Happy Hardcore and Hardstyle, from probably the best event ever.

It was only uploaded a couple of days ago, and already it had 8.800+ plays! That’s amazing. And people are loving it a lot. And it does have a tracklist, does it get any better?

The tracklist looks good, really good. A lot of Darren Styles stuff in here, and it always makes me smile. This man knows exactly how to make good music, and the result is astonishing. His tunes are all known around the world, and even at Defqon.1 the crowd are singing out loud to his tunes. This is such a confident booster for Darren, but it underlines what he does well: make the greatest tunes.

A lot of Darren and Tweekaz tunes in here. I’m liking the Darren Styles stuff, that comes without saying. But there are a few track so quirky, so bouncy, too happy for my liking. Like ‘Wodka’. Sorry to say this, but what a horrible track. The same with ‘Frozen’. Not a fan of Da Tweekaz a lot, sadly. The set I’ve reviewed previously also mentioned the cheesy track, and I’m not a fan of it at all. They are dreadful. I know they could be nice to listen to when you are halfway to the moon, but they aren’t quality.

Another thing that annoyed me. They should literally take away the microphone. Why ruin a set with you shouting down the microphone? Even the singer for ‘Partystarter’ couldn’t stay in line with the sung she sang. Nope, microphones should be banned.

The best record? Well, it has to be a Darren Styles track. ‘The Dragon’ is really, really good!

It’s good to hear and see that Defqon.1 has embraced Darren Styles. It was a nice B2B, but next year he needs his own set. Not let it be ruined by the dodgy cheesy tracks or someone talking bullsh*t through the microphone.

Sadly I couldn’t give it more. Too many factors make this set less interesting. Seriously, next year it needs to be Darren on hiw own. He deserves it! This was a step up. Q-Dance, make him a headliner!

The last couple of months I’ve been on Facebook a lot, and the UK Hardcore community has gone nuts when they found out that Darren Styles was going to play at Defqon.1 in the Netherlands. Was it the breakthrough we as UK Hardcore fans were hoping for? Would UK Hardcore become bigger, would it finally be recognised for its strength and its diversity? Well, in a way yes, but in another way no. But I’ll get there in a minute. The set you are about to listen to is the set by Da Tweekaz (alone) at Defqon.1, and as you can tell by looking at the picture, they’ve had a wonderful time!

I’ve not listened to a mix or a set by Da Tweekaz before, but I’ve seen tracks in other people’s mixes before. Today is the day when I’m going to indulge myself into their world, and immediately I notice a pattern: they make Hardstyle, but they make it quite happy. You’ll see it, when you read through the tracklist. It’s not the rough and raw stuff, but the more uplifting and as I said happy. Shouldn’t they rename it to Happy Hardstyle?

The people at Defqon.1 can be heard throughout the set, singing along all their tunes. If I’d be there, I would look stupid, because I don’t know a single lyric. I would just ad lib like a complete tool. Well, a few tunes I know, but that said, the crowd knows literally every song! And that’s impressive!

Let me show you the tracklist!

01. Tweekacore x Darren Styles – Partystarter (Da Tweekaz 150 Mix)
02. Coone & Da Tweekaz vs Headhunterz – D.W.X. Reignites (DT Mashup)
03. Eiffel 65 – Blue (Team Defqon Edit)
04. Da Tweekaz – Tequila (Loco Edit)
05. Paul Elstak – Luv U More (Da Tweekaz x Gammer Flip)
06. Da Tweekaz – How Far I’ll Go
07. Da Tweekaz – Tweekay16 (HB Edit)
08. Da Tweekaz – The Hanging Tree
09. Code Black x Da Tweekaz x Adrenalize – Heart Like Mine
10. Da Tweekaz – Wodka (2016 Edit)
11. Da Tweekaz x Darren Styles – Heroes (T2S Edit)
12. TheFatRat – The Calling (Da Tweekaz Remix)
13. Darren Styles – Us Against The World (Da Tweekaz Remix)
14. Da Tweekaz vs Forever Lost – #Tweekay14 (DQ17 Samba Edit)
15. Da Tweekaz – Frozen (2016 Edit)
16. Da Tweekaz – Komon
17. Da Tweekaz – Game Of Thrones (2017 Edit)
18. Da Tweekaz x Sub Sheeran Project – Shape Of DRKNSS
19. Da Tweekaz – Little Red Riding Hood (Tweekacore Edit)

There’s a lot of their own productions in here. Wow. And also a few tracks with Darren Styles or Gammer. That’s good. Keeping the UK Hardcore sound alive.

The crowds are loving it. They keep on singing along. I reckon there were quite a few hands in the air. Da Tweekaz are keeping the crowd entertained with their tunes. And there are a few good tracks in here, like ‘The Calling’, ‘How Far I’ll Go’, ‘Heroes’, ‘Us Against The World’, etc. If you were there, you must have experienced something extremely good!

But I wonder if they do take themselves serious from time to time? ‘Wodka’? ‘Blue’? ‘Luv U More’? ‘Frozen’? These tracks are not my thing, they are too cheesy, and I’m Dutch so normally we like our music to be cheesy, but this was too much for me. Maybe when they made these tunes they were enjoying life a lot, and decided to create silly records. I don’t know, but these aren’t my thing.

Best record? ‘Us Against The World’. Or ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. Or ‘Shape Of DRKNSS’. Maybe because I like my music to be a bit rougher. And not silly.

It’s good that UK Hardcore artists have joined forces with Da Tweekaz, but it doesn’t make it sound like the original sound at all anymore. I hope that DS and Gammer know which direction to lead the scene. But please, no ‘Blue’ or anything similar. The chees-fest time should be behind us.

I liked the set a lot. But these cheesy tunes weren’t my thing. And them shouting through the microphone. Ban the microphone forever. Only at UK Hardcore festivals should they be allowed lol. Not at the world’s biggest Hardstyle event.

The internet is such a wonderful place. It’s packed with music, and once you’ve set up an account on Soundcloud, you are entitled to listen to millions of hours of fun! Everything and anything is on there. Including Digital Punk’s set from 2 years ago, recorded at Supremacy. On the 26th of September in the Brabanthallen DJs such as Radical Redemption, Adaro, Ran-D, E-Force, Warface, Miss K8, Luna and more. And let’s not forget the DJ who’s set we are about to listen to: Digital Punk. A headline act who’s played all over the world at the biggest events. But how come I have never heard a set or mix made by him?

Well, I’ve already listened to many sets, and today a button (which is ‘ontdek’ in Dutch) pushed me towards this set. So I gave it a go. And I wasn’t disappointed. Like everyone at Supremacy, it was awesome! Yes, I read the review on Partyflock, and people were only mentioning good things. How can you have a bad time with a killer line-up, and Supremacy already has got a good reputation for being awesome. Put Digital Punk on the line-up and the event just gets better.

If you haven’t heard or seen the name ‘Digital Punk’ before, which strikes me as being odd because his tracks have appeared in so many mixes, let this set be your guide. It contains a lot of his own productions or remixes, so you won’t have a bad day today. You will love this set. And I think it’s time now for the tracklist, isn’t it?

01. Intro Supremacy
02. Digital Punk & MC Nolz – Supreme (Official Supremacy Anthem 2015)

06. Ran-D & Digital Punk – Rebel To The Grave
07. Frequencerz & Warface – Uber Mash Up
08. Ran-D & Digital Punk – Survivors (E-Force Remix)

Yes, it’s Saturday morning and I don’t care. I’m playing this set out loud, waking up the whole neighbourhood. They already know what I’m capable off (my speakers can destroy walls). They know I don’t listen to the conventional music, played on the radio. I listen to the roughest and toughest styles, and if they can’t handle it, they can move to another county.

This contained a few of his own productions, and they do sound extremely good! The people you can hear throughout the set know the words to every song he plays: whenever he fades the music to let the fans sing, they do sing. Sing so loud! They don’t need a microphone, their voices are so loud… blimey! That’s dedication for the music, isn’t it?

Digital Punk’s set is awesome, and 20.7k+ plays show how much people love his style. I do like it too. I’ve enjoyed the whole set. Maybe not the MC, he’s not an added bonus in this case, the music and the skills Digital Punk has as a DJ are beyond what this MC can do. Oh, and I’m not a fan of ‘We Will Rock Funky Fresh Beatz’. That track sounded just too wrong lol.

What’s the best track in this mix? ‘Das Weite Land’ by Alpha2 & Jack Of Sound. Just listen and witness its strength.

Let this set be your guidance throughout this weekend. Is it going to rain, or will the sunshine come back? Who cares, as long as you’ve paid your electricity bill you can turn on your PC, press the ‘on’ button on your speakerset, and turn it right up! Enjoy it like the thousands who witnessed him 2 years ago!

There are always new names in the music industry we’ve never heard of, and blogs like mine or others are always a good step forward to increase publicity, but when your name is Noisecontrollers, you certainly won’t need a website like mine, when the biggest stages are there for grabs. Noisecontrollers’ has established himself over the years, and the result is playing at the dopest events all over the world. But playing in your home country always feels much more special, and when the event is Decibel, what can go wrong? It must be a DJ’s kind of heaven?

Decibel is one of the leading events, and last year they only had the finest artists playing all over the event, and the mainstage looked extremely tasty: Atmozfears, Brennan Heart & Wildstylez, Da Tweekaz, Frequencerz, Partyraiser, Radical Redemption… I could go on, but you get the gist. You know what I was saying: this party was epic, and by accident I found Noisecontrollers’ liveset on Soundcloud. If you haven’t heard it already, you should be ashamed. 13k+ people already have, so why are you behind? Come on, join the Noisecontrollers train to madness!

The tracklist was added by someone, thank you for that. I can finally put names to the tunes I heard throughout the set.

01. Noisecontrollers – The Game

20. Alpha2 & Noisecontrollers – Craving For The Beat (Official Decibel Anthem 2013)

Sweet Lord, if there’s another liveset out there better than this one, please mention it to me, because I reckon you are wrong, oh so wrong. This set is jam packed with awesome Summer tunes. Tunes that makes you want to rip off your office attire, and run towards the beach, dancing until the sun goes down.

Noisecontrollers has selected a few slamming anthems, such as ‘See The Light’, ‘Can’t Go Home’, ‘Sparks’, ‘Rocked Up’, ‘Wild Ones’, ‘Down Down’, but the one that did the most to me, was ‘Let Me See Ya’. I can’t describe it with words, you need to listen to it, and it will embrace you, and makes you want to dance, dance until the world ends. Seriously, this is an anthem, but don’t underestimate ‘Down, Down’. You can’t listen to it without singing out loud. And scare everyone around you, because you can’t sing.

This set has got some seriously insane dancefloor smashers, but some are just a bit meh. Adele is a nice girl, but to hear ‘Hello’, even at a big rave, nah, not my thing. But that’s just me.

I have listened to this at least 4415 times. Yes, it’s because of me that the plays are extremely high, but can you blame me? You simply can’t. Listen to this yourself, and you will know why this man doesn’t need an introduction. A superstar! Big set, dangerous for you.

Warning! Once the mix has finished, you press play again and again. Be careful!
