Today was one of those days I wanted to hear something rougher and tougher. I found exactly that! Not really as hard as Terror or Speedcore, but still hard enough for my ears and rough enough. I looked at this set on Soundcloud, and immediately pressed play. I had to listen to this, I simply had to, because it’s a set by Warface, which was recorded at Supremacy 2015. Held on the 26th of September 2015, the line-up was insane. Let me just name a few: Radical Redemption, Ran-D, Adaro, Digital Punk, E-Force, Miss K8, Delete VIP, Luna, and more. One event you simply had to witness and visit: no reason for you to stay at home, what’s there to do at home?

I’ve seen Warface’s name fly by every so often, but I know nothing about the artist. I’m not a walking Wikipedia, am I? Or a walking Discogs. Wish I was, so I would use my knowledge to make these reviews more professional. But anyhow, Warface. A name you’ve probably seen/heard before. I haven’t, I left the Netherlands when Rawstyle became huge, and I think that I’ve made a mistake: should have stayed in NL. But we can’t change the past, can we? At least I’ve got the internet and my good ol’ friend mister Soundcloud.

The set is rough and tough, exactly how you like it. Am I lying in saying that? I’m not, am I?

tracklist

01. Warface – The Violent Storm
02. Warface feat Eric Dumont – Voice Of Addiction
03. Warface & MC Nolz – Eternal Darkness
04. Warface & The Geminizers – Path To Extinction
05. Warface & Digital Punk – Unleash War
06. Titan & Warface – Sentinel
07. Warface – Fuck You, Pay Me!
08. Warface – H8 M3 9
09. Warface – Heretics
10. Warface & E-Force – Disphoria
11. Warface & N-Vitral – Fuck The Drum Machine
12. Warface feat Superior – Beyond Aggression
13. Warface & Luna – Warzone
14. Warface – Deception
15. Warface – Mutilate & Destroy
16. Warface & Delete – The Baddest
17. Warface – Everlasting Fire

Doesn’t the tracklist look good? If you were looking for a lot of Warface, you don’t need to look any further. I seriously mean it, don’t look no further, this is really all you need on this boring and dreadful Monday afternoon/evening!

There are some amazing tracks in this mix, ‘Warzone’ is truly a wicked track.  ‘Unleash War’… and the list goes on. Warface does bring something unique to the table, and it’s ground breaking. And also speaker breaking, let’s not forget that! Warface does know how to create tracks, and they are very interesting, and they make the ravers loose themselves.

Two tracks aren’t my cup of tea, one of them because there are guitars in it (‘Beyond Aggression’) and the other being that the ‘singing’ bit sounds so off. Kind of ruined the track, but that’s just my opinion, isn’t it?

Favourite track? Simple answer: ‘Mutilate & Destroy’.

All in all an amazing set. This made my body move, and I do mean each fibre in it. I don’t hear Rawstyle sets often, but I should. They keep me going, they do. Warface’s set made my Monday much better, and much more exciting. Sadly no download, but still the ‘press-play’ option. So press play, and don’t waste your precious time!

Yet another Rawstyle mix I can listen to today! I am a very happy Dutchman, and in all fairness we all should be very happy. This time I found a liveset, recorded at Ground Zero 2016, by Rooler. The name was unknown to me, the scene is expanding rapidly and for me to know each and every name is obviously too damn difficult, but it’s never too late to learn, eh? Well, anyway, he uploaded his short but very exciting liveset, recorded at one of the dopest and roughest events in the music industry: Ground Zero.

Truth be told, I found this mix by accident and got intrigued by one of the track titles: ‘Dikke Stroopwafels’. Seeing as I’m Dutch I do love stroopwafels, but stroopwafels and Rawstyle? What does that lead up to? ‘Ruwe Wortelen’? ‘Brute Bloemkool’? Well, to see stroopwafels in a tracklist kinda amazed me, but that’s not the only thing: the tracklist is really interesting too! If you have never heard of Rooler before, now’s the time to indulge yourself into this raw world!

tracklist

01. Intro
02. Rooler – Death (Live Edit)
03. Rooler – Danger (Live Edit)
04. Luminite – Destruction (Rooler Remix) (Live Edit)
05. Malice & Rooler – Destructive Acts (Live Edit)
06. Rooler – Tormento (Live Edit)
07. Rooler – Damnation (Live Edit)
08. Sasha F & Rooler – Number 23 (Rooler’s Ground Zero Edit)
09. Delete – Mutants (Malice & Rooler Remix)
10. Rooler – Extinguish (Vocal Edit)
11. Malice & Rooler – Aggresive Acts
12. Rebellion – How It Goes (Malice & Rooler Remix)
13. Rooler – Endless Path
14. Rooler – Dikke Stroopwafels (Kibbeling Edit)

Am I the only one who spotted the stroopwafels immediately? Damn, I want some right now!

The set is quite dope! It’s my first introduction into Rooler’s world, and it’s sounding very good. A proper liveset, with an intro! How many DJs do add an intro to their sets nowadays? Not many. A proper intro and also a record called ‘Stroopwafels’. Nothing can ruin my Sunday at all!

To play at Ground Zero is a must, and acknowledges your level of expertise: no DJ Bobo’s are asked to play there, only the finest DJs in the world. Rooler’s set fitted in right well, and I really enjoyed every second of it!

Best track? Come on, without a shadow of a doubt the Stroopwafel record. If there’s an increase in stroopwafel sales, it’s all because of Rooler. Now serious though:it’s a seriously insane track.

Basically, the set is superb from the start to the end. Got only good credits for Rooler. He gained a new fan today!

A colleague of mine who’s completely in love with anything and everything Hardstyle/Rawstyle related mentioned to me that there’s a set I should check out, and that it’s one of the dopest he has ever seen. He became very excited after seeing the Youtube video of last year’s Hard Bass, especially Team Red’s set. Honestly I haven’t heard the set at all, so I thought I should give it a go, and after listening to it I was drawn to it. The sheer power and awesomeness can be felt from the first to the last second.

Team Red last year were 4 acts: Radical Redemption, Titan, Warface and Freakz At Night. They all came together, and their set can be found on Soundcloud. Don’t know if Freakz At Night were also part of this set, don’t think so.But anyhow, this set can be found on B2S’ Soundcloud page, and you can literally hear everything. The crowd going mad, the MC getting the crowd hyped up and also the smoke machine (is it the smoke machine? think it is, haven’t seen the Youtube video). Love the music if I’m honest.

Someone composed a tracklist, and I think it’s one you definately need to see.

tracklist

01. Titan, Zany & DV8 Rocks – Confessions Of A Serial Killer (Titanomachy Edit)
02. Radical Redemption – Suicide Bassline

05. Radical Redemption – ID
06. Warface – FTP 07
07. Regain – Insane
08. Radical Redemption – Hard Bass Tribute
09. Warface – #H8M3
10. Titan & Delete – Bitch Fight
11. Minus Militia – Reign Supreme
12. Warface – Mashup 5.0
13. The Machine & MC Shizzler – Don’t Touch My Stereo
14. Radical Redemption – Judge Me
15. Warface & Luna – The Revival
16. Titan & Warface – The Sentinel (Hard Bass Tool)
17. Radical Redemption feat MC Tha Watcher – The Spell Of Sin
18. Warface & N-Vitral – Fuck The Drum Machine
19. Alien T – The Hammer Of The Devil
20. Radical Redemption feat MC Jeff – Don’t Fuck With The Radical
21. Warface & The Geminizers – Path To Extinction
22. The Machine & Titan – Apocalypse
23. Delete & Warface – The Baddest
24. Prefix & Density – W.U.F.U. (Wake Up Fucked Up)
25. Radical Redemption – The Cross Of Blood
26. Warface – Catalyst
27. Titan & DV8 Rocks – Flip Uhm Op Z’n Kantje

The tracklist is a beauty, but a lot of the same artists in it. Not really diverse, is it lol. But it’s good, at least the music is good.

The set is good. You can hear the crowd losing it completely, and I have to say that I have been listening to it several times and I have felt it too! Goosebumps emerged from the first second to the last. Team Red were excellent, and if you were there, you were probably one of those thousands of people shouting out loud.

The tracks are good! Really enjoyed the set. Little tiny mixing errors, but come on man, to DJ in front of thousands of people, you are bound to make little mistakes. At least I’m the only one who noticed them, and not anyone.

What’s my favourite track? I can’t choose, the whole set is just pure energy. It brought a smile on my face.

What didn’t put a smile on my face? I never liked anything with Dutch lyrics, so the last track is a no for me. If it would have been instrumental and no talking through it, it would be nice. And the person behind the mic maybe talks too much.

Am I picky? Probably. But no matter what, I still enjoyed the set a lot. Thanks to my colleague who persuaded me to listen to this. A good choice, hopefully he has got more ideas for me in the near future.

A couple of days ago a colleague told me he found a set by Gunz For Hire on Youtube, and that it was the bomb. He was really hyped up about it, describing it in details how this set was amazing and that it was probably one of the best sets ever. I’ve heard of Gunz For Hire before and seen their tracks in mixes before, but never have I seen or witnessed them live. I thought I should give it a go, and watch the video, which was recorded at Hard Bass 2016. You’ve probably seen the set, or watched them live at Hard Bass, and you probably share the same opinion, the opinion my colleague has.

Gunz For Hire, I always wondered why they wear masks and suits. I had no idea at all, who they were at all. Turns out they are Ran-D and Adaro, under an alias. Who would have thought that? I honestly didn’t know, but thankfully Wikipedia had the information. It doesn’t say why  they wear the creepy masks and nice suits, but who cares? It’s an act.

Their set from Hard Bass was captured on video, and you can find it on their own Youtube channel. As you’ve probably gathered, I am a newbie when it comes to GFH. I’ve heard their music before, but not seen them live before. This is my introduction into their world, and after watching their set, I am happy that I pressed play and watched the video. A well co-ordinated set, the lasers are on spot, the video screen behind them project the right things, the fire cannons are on time, everything is perfect. And this set has got a tracklist, how amazing!

tracklist

01. Gunz For Hire – Plata O Promo
02. Gunz For Hire – Swagger
03. Imagine Dragons – Warriors (Gunz For Hire Bootleg)
04. Gunz For Hire – Kings Of The Underground
05. Gunz For Hire – Executioner Style
06. Gunz For Hire – This Is Los Angeles
07. Gunz For Hire – I’m A Criminal
08. Gunz For Hire – May God Be With You All
09. Gunz For Hire – No Mercy
10. TBA – TBA

The list is short, but it’s not the amount of tracks that matter, it’s all about the impact each tune has on the crowd. And the crowd are, as you can see in the video, absolutely loosing themselves. The room is packed to the max, and everyone is giving 110%. No time to relax or to chill, the music keeps on coming.

The music is good. I was really entertained. The video is also a nice bonus, you can see what happened at Hard Bass 2016. If you were there, you witnessed something amazing. One tiny thing I have to mention: I’m not a fan of their use of the microphone as much as they do. Maybe it’s experienced better when you are there, but for it was a bit too much. Oh, and what’s up with their arms/hands? Look at their hands throughout the set, and you will be hypnotised!

A wonderful set. Maybe a bit less shouting, but that’s okay, I can manage it. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves, and also Gunz For Hire seems to have fun. They give their all from the beginning to the end. The show is insanely good, the tracks are good. Really entertained me a lot.Sadly this set is only 31 minutes long, but the impact it has can be felt wherever you are watching this!
