Last year’s Westfest was amazing! A killer line-up, and an exclusive performance from The Order. If you don’t know who they are, let me introduce them to you: MOB, MC Obie and MC Mayhem form The Order. Don’t know why they are called that, maybe they bring order into the UK Hardcore scene? Well, it can be a bit chaotic, so maybe they named themselves after what their mission is: balance within the scene, and also wicked and exclusive sets! It took a while for the liveset to contain the tracklist, but thankfully they’ve uploaded it, so now I can share it with you!

MC Obie and MC Mayhem entertain the crowd with their vocal skills, and MOB is behind the decks, playing out the finest tunes from himself and other names such as Klubfiller, Outforce, Callum Higby, Modulate and more. The tracklist is actually a beauty, but with The Order you need to judge the whole act, and not just the DJ and his records, because you get so much. You need to pay attention, and you can hear during this set that they are doing their best, and the crowd is liking their performance a lot!

Don’t know when they are performing next, but for now let’s listen to this set, and appreciate their unique-ness!

01. Mission Control – The Order Anthem
02. MOB & Enemy – Speak English
03. MOB – Flirt (MOB x Tom Bexton Remix)
04. Outforce & Hartshorn – Put Yo Hood Up
05. Alex Prospect x Spyro – Up To No Good
06. MOB & Enemy – Falling In Love (MOB Party Hard Edit)
07. MOB & Klubfiller – Heart Of Glass
08. Callum Higby – Bassface
09. Chainsmokers – Don’t Let Me Down (MOB Boot Mix)
10. Modulate & Obie – Believe
11. MOB & Strider feat Jenny J – Bring You Home
12. MOB feat Lou – Butterflies
13. MOB x Callum Higby – Creation
14. Mission Control Award // MOB & Enemy feat Nina – Iron Heart

The tracklist does look good, but as I said before, you have to listen to the whole package to judge it. And let me tell you, this will bring a smile on your face!

MOB, Mayhem and Obie. Three mighty names, and they bring balance. A nicely balanced mix. And they get the crowd hyped up to the max. Don’t know any other act like this one in the UK Hardcore scene, if I’m honest. The Order brings it to the masses, and everyone likes it! The music accompanied is also very good, maybe a bit too much MOB related, but do you mind? MOB is one of the finest producers out there, and he’s picked a few amazing records, such as ‘Falling In Love’, ‘Butterflies’, ‘Believe’, ‘Iron Heart’, but the one that made me dance/move the most has to be ‘Bassface’.

Two tracks I don’t like. That’s the only thing I can mention about the actual mix. And maybe the mic levels. It ain’t a 100%. But close. But that’s not The Order’s fault. You can still hear them, and understand what the MCs are saying, and making you do!

A good set. Wish I was there, witnessing history being written. As I said before I don’t have a clue when they are performing again, but they should. They bring the fire to the masses. The Order, you need to look out for that, trust me!

A couple of weeks ago an event took place in the USA, which was focussed on the mighty label Hardcore Underground. One of the names on the line-up was AoS, who I’ve reviewed in the past for. For a strange reason nothing has come across my Facebook timeline, only via Soundcloud I was notified about something he posted recently. It might be interesting to you, a liveset from HardRush HU Edition.

If you haven’t heard or seen his name before, this might be your first introduction to AoS, but don’t worry at all, you will know a lot more towards the end of the mix. He has added a few of his own productions in this mix, to make sure that you know who he is and what he does. Sadly it’s only a short liveset, but it’s still worth a download and a listen.

I reckon this set wasn’t recorded at the event, but he wrote down the tracks he mixed together, and made the ‘set’ at home? I think that’s what it means when people say it’s kinda live?

01. AoS – The Only Way
02. Scott Brown & Obie – Ultimate Form
03. Relect – Close Your Eyes
04. Dancelordz – Together (AoS & Denile Remix)
05. Inspector Sands – Call Your Name (AoS Remix)
06. AoS – Cena (2017 Edit)
07. AoS – Pieces (2017 Mix)
08. Brenergy & AoS – Wanna Be Loved
09. AoS – 815 (VIP Mix)
10. AoS – Blast Em
11. Chris Ross – Heaven
12. Karl Future – Someday Soon (Darwin’s Indie HU Remix)
13. Fracus & Darwin vs CLSM – Chime
14. AoS – Revive (2017 HardRush Edit)

For me this party was a bit too far out for my wallet. I know I make a few bucks at my current employee, but it ain’t enough to get me a ticket to the States. Even though I want to. Maybe I should start a fundraising campaign? Maybe not, no-one would pledge a single penny haha.

Anyhow, this set. It’s got a lot of his own records in it. AoS is a producer you need to look out for. He’s got the style correct, he knows how to produce UK Hardcore the way we want it to be. I reckon he purchased a copy of Fracus & Darwin’s producing thingy and used bits from it. If not, and he’s done this on his own, credits to the man. It’s hard to capture the Hardcore sound.

AoS is the future. I’m liking the tracks he creates. I like his set, even though it ain’t live. I’m liking the diversity. This is a very, very nice set. We need more sets like this one. It’s uplifting, happy and cheerful. This was my first set on this dreadful Sunday morning, but it has changed my mood instantly!

Download this for free and share it with everyone you know!
Best record? ‘Pieces’. Love the vocals.

There might be a few tiny errors, but give him a break! All in all the set is good.

A much talked about set on social media. I won’t go into details, you will find more information on the world wide web. But let’s talk about this set, which is obviously why you are here. This year’s Summer Gathering looked absolutely amazing! So many areas, so many great artists performing here, and one duo performed in the HTID/Ravers Reunited area: A.B & Thumpa. Alongside MC Octane they demolished the tent. They weren’t the only one at Summer Gathering 2016: Darren Styles, Joey Riot, Gammer, Dougal. Kutski, Breeze, Squad-E. Scott Brown, Alex Prospect… well, basically each name on the picture added above this review. You can read this, so read the flyer.

I don’t know when Thumpa or A.B decided to do sets together, but it’s a good combination. Saw them recently at BMH Freeform, and they demolished the dancefloor and the speakers. A lot of fist pumping and rave faces, but it was good (music wise). That’s probably why they were asked to play at Summer Gathering: because these two are good behind the decks. They make sure that the crowd is going nuts, and they only play the finest tunes money can buy.

The tracklist was kindly provided by Thumpa himself, have a look and be amazed!

01. Finnbarr – In Your Eyes
02. Gammer – Yabai
03. Avi8 – The Forgotten Star (Macks Wolf & Clarkey Remix)
04. Gammer & Whizzkid – Love You Everyday (Redux)
05. A.B – Shudder
06. Gammer – Red Drink Foam Party
07. Alex Prospect & Spyro – Up To No Good
08. Nuton – Rockin!
09. A.B & Finnbarr – Stick Together
10. A.B – Miami (Jakka-B Remix)
11. Jekyll & Clarkey – Mallorca
12. A.B – Promise Me (Scott Brown Remix)
13. A.B – Crowd Geoff
14. Firelite – Burning’ Up (Riko & Genic Contagious Power Bootleg)
15. Scott Brown vs Bass X – One 2 Three
16. Chris Fear – First Serve (Jakka-B Remix)
17. Tamerax – Bring It Up (170 Mix)
18. Dougal & Gammer – Snakebite
19. Double Decka – Transformed (Remane Remix)
20. Callum Higby – Headshot
21. Impact – DJs Calling (Denile & Eufeion 2016 Remix)
22. Skinny & Darwin – Like A Boulder
23. Chwhynny & Darwin – Nothing There (Blu The Roof Mix)

This liveset looks amazing! Not really a hundred percent focussed on Freeform, which can be good from time to time. I was expecting a full on Freeform mix, but I was amazed to hear such a diverse mix! Great track, carefully selected by Thumpa and A.B, and accompanied by MC Octane!

There are some great anthems in here! There was obviously room for Freeform, so they squeezed in some tracks by A.B, Finnbarr, and more. And I have to say that with this set they’ve found a good balance between Freeform and UK Hardcore, and also a bit of Hardstyle/Gabber towards the end. It’s nice to hear a wicked set by these two legends.

MC Octane does his thing well, and gets the crowd going. The music pushes the crowd toward the stage, and it made me rave in my living room hard as hell.

Maybe one or two tracks weren’t my cup of tea, but let’s focus on the best tracks in this liveset: ‘Forgotten Star’, ‘Shudder’, ‘Miami’ and more. I love the records they have selected, and it’s really a non-stop blast of music, pouding through my speakers.

This ‘threesome’ works, and I can feel  the vibes coming through my speakers. I am happy after an hour and a minute, this really made my day. More of these combinations please, and also more sets which aren’t focussed on only one style. Diversity is key to make everything work. Freeform and UK Hardcore blend in well.

A.B and Thumpa and Octane, wicked set!

Cyber & Giggly, my favourite UK Hardcore duo are back with a brand new liveset! They recently played at the majestic I Love Hard Beats, and at ILHB they decided to play an amazing set, filled with Trancey Hardcore anthems. They also recorded their set, how else would I write a review about it? Their set can be found on Soundcloud, and seeing as they are my favourite duo, you should press the download button and raise the volume up! But not too loud, because there’s already a small issue with the recording volume. Before I actually pressed play, I read the warning underneath the mix, which stated that the volumes were high, a recording issue, but you could still hear their set. So maybe not raise the volume to the max, eh?

I’ve already listened to it with my headphones on, but not on maximum capability, because it would demolish my eardrums and headphones. But let’s talk about the event. The line-up was impressive, and it would be embarassing not to mention a few names: DJ Sy, Alek Száhala, Billy Daniel Bunter, Rikki Arkitech, Eryk Orpheus, Mark Ashley, Fracus & Darwin, A.B, Cyrax, Nicky Blackmarket, Laith, Lost Soul… are you impressed yet? You must be, if you went you probably had a wonderful time. If you didn’t, you missed out one hell of an event. I wasn’t there either, but I know that ILHB events are always ace. Make sure you follow them and be updated constantly, and go to the next ILHB if you can.

Cyber & Giggly played a Trancey Hardcore set, and it’s delicious. Trance and Hardcore, a nice combination. For those who think it’s Freeform (because it’s basically Trancecore), it’s not. This is just a mix with oldskool dancefloor smashers, which have been sped up slightly, to the desirable BPMs, high enough for ravers to go nuts. Cyber & Giggly have selected the finest tracks, and I think it’s time for you all to see the tracklist!

01. Warrior – Warrior (Fracus & Darwin’s Bootleg Remix)
02. Technikore & Minty feat Nathalie – As The Rush Comes
03. Darwin – Carte Blanche
04. Ayla – Ayla (Darwin Remix)
05. System F – Cry (Re-Con & Squad-E Remix)
06. Anon – Anthem
07. Alice DeeJay – Better Off Alone (Hardcore Remix)
08. Frantic & Gammer – Braveheart (Joey Riot Remix)
09. Blocadini vs Cruze – Coming To The Nines
10. Cruze – Every Other Day
11. TDV – The Dawn (Cruze & K-Plus UKHC Remix)
12. Nalin & Kane vs Styles – Cruising
13. Ultrasun – We Can Runaway (Rescue BO Booty)
14. Sash feat Stunt – Raindrops (Damaged & Krays Remix)

The tracklist is good, takes me back to the good years of UK Hardcore and also pop music. Many of these tracks dominated the op 40s when they were released and are way better than the standard crap that’s been released nowadays. Groundbreaking anthems, and being remixed to suit the UK Hardcore sound just makes it sound extremely good.

Cyber & Giggly have selected awesome tracks. Dancefloor smashers, eardrum bashers. Christ, the volume is too damn high. But you can still appreciate their set. I love so many tracks, from ‘Ayla’ to ‘As The Rush Comes’ to ‘We Can Runaway’, but the one that to0k my breath away was ‘Anthem’. I’ve never heard this track before, and I’ve fallen in love with it immediately! Wasn’t Anon a side-project, run by Gammer? Whoever is responsible for this track has made the anthem of the century! Wowsers, this is seriously the best anthem I’ve heard in a long time!

What’s wrong with this mix? Well, the volume, but we’ve already discussed that. And also the first track. Never liked the original, don’t like this version. But besides those two, this is a really good set. One you should download, press play and go nuts to. And make sure you check out Cyber & Giggly, recommended by TCD. Only love to them for keeping the Trancey Hardcore alive. More sets like this one please (lower recording volume please).
