If there’s one artist I’ve been looking out for, it’s ATTLAS. And yet I’ve completely forgotten about him. Am I a fan? Yes. His previous mixes were so amazing, they blew my mind away, and I have listened to them at least once a week. So the amount of plays on Soundcloud can mostly be credited to me. But I haven’t seen his latest mix, which was released last year in December! How stupid am I? I’m so fascinated about his previous mixes, and I’ve missed this one completely. That’s a shame. Don’t know why I decided to go to his Soundcloud page today at work, but I was in search for something calm and relaxing, and yes, there was a brand new mix! Storyline Volume 2! Volume 1 was breathtakingly beautiful, so would 2 be as good, or even better?

Better. This man combines music with films, and the combination is just astonishing! He takes your breathe away. I don’t know what his secret formula is, but it’s worth its value in gold! This is valuable, a commodity that many artists would like to have, but not one has. It’s so darn good, it becomes emotional, even after hearing it for the first time. He starts off with an amazing intro, and the music just flows through your speakers towards you. Instead of being hit with angry fists in your face, this feels like someone’s hugging you constantly, protecting you from the angry side of life. That’s how I feel during an ATTLAS mix. Embraced by his mix, and it won’t let me go.

Another mix added to my ‘favourites’. And will at least have 10k plays by me. Just me. This is so addictive.

I don’t have a clue who 85% of these artists are, but for once I’m not bothered about the names. The music means more to me, and does the most for me. And boy, this is really a mix we’ve been waiting for.

70k+ listeners so far, and yet no one I know recognizing his name. He’s to me a truly gifted and talented DJ and producer. Someone who’s capable of touching hearts without any effort. The combination of music and films just works astonishingly good, and the way he does it, I haven’t seen before. Yes, people make music with bits from films in it, but the way ATTLAS does it, it’s scary. How does he do that? How does he make it work?

I don’t know which films these bits are from, and I don’t care. ATTLAS, you are a hero to me. From the first to the last second you take me on a ride throughout musical heaven, and the feeling it generates can not be topped by anything else. I like many styles, and most of the times I listen to harder, rougher and tougher music, but ATTLAS’ mixes are just untouchable. They make me loose myself. I feel more human.

Can’t pick a favourite, because it’s the combination that you need to think of, and in my case judge. The whole mix, it’s pure heaven. ATTLAS must have been sent from heaven, because only angels can make a mix work like he does.

ATTLAS, thank you. I don’t need drugs or alcohol to get me high. Your mix does that without despair. Are you an angel?

2015 was a brilliant year for me. During the year I discovered new music, new artists, and the one that made the year more special was a new artist called Attlas. To me he was the biggest surprise, and what he did to the music scene was so unique and refreshing, he became an instant hit. The two mixes you can find on his Soundcloud page were listened by thousands of people, more than 100k+ people listened to these wonderful mixes (the ones I’ve reviewed) and I can say in all honesty that I’m probably responsible for most plays. I had to bookmark these sets, and whenever I want to hear them, I just press play and the mood changes completely. The same with his latest mix, this is such a superb set, this is a game changing set.

What he does is unique. Minimalistic music and film bits, that’s the best way to describe what Attlas does. Yes, many artists have used bits in tracks, but not as good as Attlas. The way he does it is so unique, he takes the music to the next level. This mysterious person has the capability to single-handedly change the music industry, and I think you should follow the flow that his music generates. Follow his path, the destination will be heaven, I garantee. I’ve never heard anything like this before in my life, so different and beautiful, his sets are the only sets I’ve heard so far which causes me to cry. And I never cry.

Attlas brings the best out of us. If there’s one name you should follow, it’s his. Many artists are well established, but never unique nor refreshing. Attlas does what he wants to do, and the result is that he will be known in the future as the ‘next best thing to happen to the music scene’. His name will be on a list, a list containing names such as James Brown, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and more. He is the biggest name to grow in the scene right now, and if you can, follow him on everything, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, etc. Trust me, his name will be known as one of the greatest artists of the 21st century.

Come on, name someone who can create such a beautiful looking tracklist?! Name one artist!?

Attlas/ATTLAS is a king. He’s the master of creating a legacy which will last a lifetime. This is such a superb set, nothing can come close to Attlas’ genuis-ness. How come only he can create this? Is it because he’s a musical God? Is he actually human, or not? Not many artists have blown me away in the last couple of years, not as much as Attlas did. He has this thing, and many might consider him gifted. He is indeed gifted, gifted with the power of creating a new level of depth in music. Movies and music, they blend well in an Attlas set.

The music is good. Not really a huge fan of Bjork’s voice, but in this mix it was suitable. Normally I would deduct stars (rating) but it doesn’t seem right to deduct anything, seeing as this is the best mix of 2016, and more mixes like this one will follow, according to what Attlas wrote underneath the mix on Soundcloud. Please let it be the truth, we need more mixes like the one you are about to listen to.

Best track? The first two. But the one that takes my breath away has got to be Jeremy Olander’s ‘Lunar’. Such a beautiful track, calm and peaceful. Attlas has picked the best tracks to start this wonderful journey through his wonderful music life.

I love Attlas, can you tell? His music is really great, his mixes are out of this world, and they all make me feel good. For once we’ve found an artist who’s unique and fresh, and his name…. is Attlas. Bookmark this mix, share it with your friends, and let yourself go. Let Attlas take you on an inspirational journey you will remember for a very long time.

Seeing as I’ve never heard of Retrohandz nor Big Fish before, it was a surprise when this mix appeared on my timeline on Soundcloud. Someone reposted it, and when my eyes noticed the coolest picture ever added to a mix, I decided to give it a go. I wasn’t disappointed at all, 55 minutes of madness/mayhem. The first half of the mix was made by Retrohandz and the second half by Big Fish, and this mix blew me away from the start. Never heard of the ‘Mustache Club’ podcast, but now a fan of it, but in a certain way I feel like an outsider and not really allowed to listen to it, seeing as I don’t have a mustache. Am I allowed to give it a listen? Well, I do get face fungus, does that count too?

There isn’t much info on Facebook regarding Retrohandz, only when they started. But one thing has to be said: they’ve got the coolest mustaches ever. So what about Big Fish, there must be some information? Yes, there is, but it’s all in Italian, and my Italian ain’t great, I know how to order a pizza and that it all. But it seems that both acts are from Milano, and that their hometown is their connection. I don’t know anything else to write about right now, so let’s show you all the tracklist they kindly added.

Retrohandz Mix:
01. Bad Royale feat Fly Boi Keno – Hey (Edit)
02. Rawtek – House Of Zulu
03. SamFeel, JF & BR – Hallo Membraam
04. Charlotte Devaney feat Snoop Dogg – Flip It (Edit) (Tommy Sunshine & KANDY Remix)
05. Absent – Jungle Crusher
06. FlipN’Gawd – Wiggity Wiggity
07. AAZAR – Masala (Sambo Bootleg)
08. Juyen Sebulba & Kandy – Vogue
09. Stereoliez – ID
10. Michael Sparks – Loose It
11. Mercer – Encore
12. Skrillex & Jauz – Squad Out!
13. Wuki – Get Down
14. DJ Caffeine – On The Floor (Jace Mek Bootleg)
15. Marshmello – Know Me
16. 2 Deep & Reid Stefan – Hands On My Knees
17. ID – ID (Retrohandz Remix)
18. Savage – Like Michael Jackson (Tropkillaz Remix)
19. Ookay & Getter – World
20. Diskord – UR LUV
21. Aquadrop – On Fire

Big Fish Mix:
01. Bugzy Malone – Watch Your Mouth
02. Meridian Dan – In The Street
03. Section Boyz – Trapping Ain’t Dead
04. Stormzy – WickedSkengMan
05. Jammer – Royal Rumble
06. Big Narstie – Hello Hi
07. Jauz – Deeper Love
08. Luke Lies & Dirtyfrequence – Knock Knock
09. Big Fish – Part Of Me
10. Kharfi – Nike Huarache
11. Tchami – Missing You
12. Chocolate Puma – I Wanna Be You (Bart B More Remix)

The tracklist is excellent! If you have listened to this mix already, you know that both mixes are dangerous! Both pleasing to you, if you love music. Don’t think that, after listening to the first mix, the second mix will be the same, because it isn’t. Filled with Grime/UKG tunes (mostly), this is a pleasant mix to listen to. Big Fish and Retrohandz, two names I will look out for.

The first mix is focussed on the catchy side of it all. There are so many catchy tunes in here, and they won’t let you go at all. The second mix is a bit rougher, but still enjoyable. Retrohandz picked the tunes that will destroy dancefloors all over the world, and Big Fish picked the tunes that destroy dancefloors in underground clubs in the UK.

I’m loving the vibes a lot. Don’t know if these podcasts are released every week or every month, but I will be listening to them. I’m in love with them, even though I do not have a mustache, but only face fungus. Can I be a member too?

A wicked mix, you should check it out, worth your time!

After coming back from a short holiday in the UK, I was eager to start writing again. And yesterday I’ve found another mix you all should listen to. A brand new mix made by a DJ called Elephante (never heard of him before?!), a mix he made for Barstool Beats. It’s on Soundcloud, if you haven’t seen it already. It’s a big mix, one you should definately check out right now, if you still want the summer to last a bit longer. Here in the Netherlands the summer is nearly over, with a lot of rain and thunder taking over the sunshine and happiness, but after I pressed play I was back in summer-mode.

I don’t have a clue who Elephante was, but thankfully the internet provided me with some answers. He’s a progressive House DJ and producer from Los Angeles, United States. For those picky people who might think he’s got a long trunk or anything else that an elephant has, he doesn’t. And no, he’s not an actual elephant. Imagine that, a real life elephant behind the decks, I would pay money to see that! But he’s a human being who’s passionate about Progressive House, and to showcase his passion he made this mix for Barstool Beats, and the mix is worth checking out. Even though I’ve never heard of Elephante before, it has caught my eye, and my ears are loving it.

Time for a tracklist? Someone composed it on Soundcloud, so I am happy to share it with you all.

20. Calvin Harris – C.U.B.A.
21. The Weeknd – Can’t Feel My Face (Martin Garrix Remix)
22. Elephante feat Lyon Hart – Shake The Earth

Jeez, I forgot that it’s common for EDM DJs to fabricate mashups, it’s a trending thing. Elephante has done the same thing, so many mashups. I thought they were hot back in 2008, but it seems that they are still hot today.

A blinding mix, really entertaining from the start. If you were looking for a proper mix, you have found it. So many great anthems are in here, and also a lot of Elephante’s own productions and remixes. They are all quite catchy, and it’s really difficult to remain seated once you’ve pressed play.

There are quite a few amazing tracks, but my favourite has to be ‘Home’. Loving the vocals, loving the vibe. Elephante’s remix is excellent, quite entertaining. My ears agree, and also my feet (haven’t stopped moving them at all).

I wasn’t aware of who Elephante was and what he did, but I quickly made sure that I followed the man. You should do the same, he’s worth it. Check out this mix, and celebrate the summer (as long as it lasts). The summer might be over soon… let this be the last mix you hear during the last days of the famous summer of 2015!
