Let me make one thing clear: I do support artists with upcoming albums. I’ve been receiving many in the past, but the one I’m about to talk about I found purely on Soundcloud. It got reposted and it grabbed my attention immediately. I was completely unaware of Ganar’s own album, but now I do support the reason behind the album even more. I’ll talk about that in a minute. But before we all get excited, this album mix is not for free, not downloadable from Soundcloud. You could get it for 12.99 pounds, but with that you get much more. And you support a very good cause!

Ganar’s cause is St Margaret’s Hospice. I don’t know the full story behind it, but they’ve helped Ganar’s mum a lot for a couple of months, and when you read what they do, it gives you a unpleasant feeling on the inside: they help people at the end of life stages. And they are a self funded organisation, which makes it even harder. If you are going through such a thing, and you donate the money you make from your own artist album to this charity, you are a super hero to me. Obviously he has other things on his mind, but bless Ganar for making the time to please us fans, and also making sure that the organisation gets some funding from the UK Hardcore fans.

This has seriously touched me a lot, and I’m pushing this album forward. This is a must have album for many reasons, and they are all legitimate reasons. This is no bollocks story, this is an album with a deeper meaning.

Let me show you what you can hear in this album mix.

tracklist

01. Ganar – True (2017 Update)
02. Ganar – For The Sky
03. Ganar – Crazy
04. Ganar – Nervous
05. Ganar – Listen
06. Ganar & Noizee One – Shelter
07. Ganar – Young & Free
08. Ganar – Another Way (Nervous Update)
09. Ganar – I Want You (2017 Update)
10. Ganar & Adam Malone – Cut & Paste
11. Ganar feat Ceci – Through The Storm
12. Ganar & Galaxy Kid – Sing For You
13. Ganar – No Stopping Us
14. Ganar – Breaking You Down
15. Ganar feat Allison – Who Do You Think You Are (2017 Update)

Now you get all these tracks on the actual album, which is a digital album. It’s only 12.99 and it’s for a bloody good cause! You spent more on Comic Relief or Sport Relief, but why not on this? This supports a good cause too, and it’s an album filled with our favourite sound: UK Hardcore! What else do you want?

I’ve really enjoyed this album mix! I like Ganar’s way of producing UK Hardcore tunes. It’s got that feeling I’ve been missing a lot lately. It’s too much focussed on the EDM side of life, and I don’t want that. It has become too cheesy, and Ganar’s tracks are more UK Hardcore than most UK Hardcore tunes produced by the big names. To me Ganar is bigger than Gammer or Darren Styles, producing wise. F**k the haters, do they know what music is?

Yes, it might be influenced by other styles, but the focus is UK Hardcore. Not a sellout artist. I love the way he gets beautiful vocals for his tracks, and they make the track even bigger. It’s got so many great vocal bits in here, they made me sing out loud at work, and I looked like a complete tool. But it’s worth it. Can you sit still when ‘Shelter’ is blasting through your speakers/headset?

This album contains a whole heap of quality tunes, worth your pennies. Check out this mix, go to the ‘buy album here’ link, and support a good cause. You will be raving in your house and donating money at the same time. Please, do it. You know it makes sense.

Best record? ‘Shelter’ is banging. ‘I Want You’ epic, ‘Through The Storm’ touching, but ‘Another Way’ is beyond epic!

An album definately worth checking out. To me the best album of 2017. Ganar, you rock sir! Quality tunes from the start.

Ps I can’t share the Soundcloud player on here, you can only check it out on Soundcloud: GO HERE:

I’ve never heard of Doughboy, and don’t have a clue who he is. Maybe he’s Super Mario’s little nephew? Whoever he is, he’s a massive name from Seattle. He’s worked with labels such as KFA, Contagious Records, Justice Hardcore, Venom Drive and more. Maybe I have seen his name before, but it never stuck on me. Don’t know why, but today I saw a mix on Soundcloud, made by the doughy man, which was recorded at an event called ‘Bubble Bobble 9′. Again, I know nothing about the DJ, or even the event, but it’s time for me to indulge myself into his wonderful world.

This set contains several styles, but it’s called Trapcore. A wide genre, in which anything can happen. And not only do you find tracks by well known names such as Spyro, Alex Prospect, Zero Hero, MOB & Enemy, but also a few of his own productions. So this introduction is quite a good one, you get to hear how he mixes and what he produces. And truth be told, if you get to work with one of the biggest superstars in the UK Hardcore scene Alex Prospect, you must have some talent.

The tracklist was kindly added, so let’s see what called ‘Trapcore’ nowadays…

tracklist

01. Buku – Front To Back (Bassnectar Remix)
02. Zero Hero – Back Again
03. MOB & Enemy – Get Up
04. Spyro – Original Bad Boy
05. Spyro – Don’t Let Me Down (Bootleg)
06. Alex Prospect x Wilson – Tremors 2017
07. DJ Sike – Bongo Bong (Doughboy Remix)
08. Skrillex & Jauz – Squad Out (Callum Higby Remix)
09. Spyro – Throwin’ Hunna
10. Alex Prospect & Spyro – Up 2 No Good
11. Mitomoro & Doughboy – Burn Up
12. Flux Pavilion & NGHTMRE feat Jamie Lewis – Feel Your Love (Late Remix)
13. Keys N Krates feat Katy B – Save Me
14. Marshmello – Alone (Doughboy Edit)
15. Spyro – How Deep Is Your Love (Bootleg)
16. Major Lazer & Bad Royale – My Number (Callum Higby Edit)
17. Alex Prospect – Need U 100% 2017
18. Falcore & Doughboy – Bout Dis Lyfe
19. Alex Prospect & Doughboy – Hustle
20. Alex Prospect x Spyro – Intoxicated
21. Rain Man & Krysta Youngs – Habit (Callum Higby Remix)
22. Mitomoro – RAVE TOOL 69
23. Keys N Krates feat Aqui – Nothing But Space
24. Spyro – Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit
25. Flux Pavilion feat Cammie Robinson – Pull The Trigger
26. Outforce & Hartshorn feat MC Riddle – Keep It Mello (Doughboy Remix)

This set is really entertaining. I’ve not heard many Trapcore mixes before, but it’s entertaining. It contains a bit from both worlds, the UK Hardcore scene and the growing EDM scene. And TCD is liking it a lot!

I must say that Doughboy’s set is really good, even though I have never heard or seen the name before. Or heard of the event. But that’s not anything bad to be brutally honest. It’s all about the music, and the music is bouncy. Quite catchy. And I think that Doughboy is or a fan of Spyro or Alex Prospect, you find a lot of their tracks in his liveset.

If I had any more information regarding the event I would have shared it with you all. Instead of, let me just say to you to press play and enjoy this Trapcore set.

I can’t find anything wrong with this set. The tracks are quite good! The best track? ‘Burn Up’.

Time to get excited, let’s see if I can find more Trapcore stuff. I need more, and I want more!!!!

Back in 2015 many albums were released, but the long awaited album by Chris Unknown got the most attention. The most anticipated album of 2015, and I only bought it last year (in December I think, around Black Friday). I should be ashamed, and I really am, but there are so many albums I should look out for and purchase, and seeing as this is a hobby, it would become very dearly. But I had to get this album. I would normally say that I don’t know why, but with this album I felt the urge to get it. If you’ve been following the scene for… erm… the last couple of years, you know exactly how good Chris Unknown is and how well received his tunes are!

The change in music style for Chris Unknown has been very good, his new style is very good. Really liked his music when he was part of Sy & Unknown, but on his own the music does the trick too: he only produces dancefloor smashers. It’s been a good couple of years in the making, this new album, but the result is astonishing! In his past he already made excellent tunes, but come on, this new sound is quite tasty. You can disagree, but who are you and what do you know about music? Well, if you are a well known producer with years of experience, you might have an opinion and disagree. But in all fairness, it’s the crowd that makes the music work: they are the ones judging it. And in every set so far in 2015 and 2016 a track by Chris Unknown has been played, and the crowd has reacted like you would expect: absolutely bonkers!

The tracklist is good, 2 discs, the first being unmixed and the second a mix by the man himself: Chris Unknown.

tracklist

CD 1 – Unmixed Full Length Tracks
01. Chris Unknown & Re-Con feat Gavin Beach – I’m Alive

03. Chris Unknown – I Don’t Need No Drugs
04. Chris Unknown, Re-Con  & Klubfiller – Takin’ Me Back
05. Chris Unknown – Killa Sound
06. Chris Unknown & Gammer – Raise Ur F*cking Hands!
07. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Summer Haze
08. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Summer Haze (Dirty Mix)
09. Chris Unknown – Get Down
10. Chris Unknown & Klubfiller – Falling
11. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Take Me Up
12. Chris Unknown & Mark Breeze – A Different Stylee
13. Chris Unknown, Re-Con & Klubfiller – Money Bitch
14. Chris Unknown – Shake
15. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – I Can Follow
16. Chris Unknown & Alex Prospect – Need You Everyday
17. Chris Unknown, Re-Con & Klubfiller – Drop The Beat

CD 2 – Mixed By Chris Unknown
01. Chris Unknown & Re-Con feat Gavin Beach – I’m Alive
02. Chris Unknown & Mark Breeze – A Different Stylee
03. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Summer Haze
04. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Summer Haze (Dirty Mix)
05. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – Take Me Up
06. Chris Unknown – Get Down
07. Chris Unknown & Darren Styles – Freak
08. Chris Unknown & Alex Prospect – Need You Everyday
09. Chris Unknown & Gammer – Raise Ur F*cking Hands!
10. Chris Unknown, Re-Con & Klubfiller – Takin’ Me Back
11. Chris Unknown – Killa Sound
12. Chris Unknown, Re-Con & Klubfiller – Money Bitch
13. Chris Unknown & Klubfiller – Falling
14. Chris Unknown – I Don’t Need No Drugs
15. Chris Unknown & Re-Con – I Can Follow
16. Chris Unknown, Re-Con & Klubfiller – Drop The Beat
17. Chris Unknown – Shake

If you’ve got not only yourself on the album, but also heavyweight artists (not talking about their actual weight though) such as Re-Con, Klubfiller, Darren Styles, Gammer, Alex Prospect, Mark Breeze… you know the album’s going to be big!

I’m digging this album a lot. Once I received in December, I obviously had to put it aside, because of my missus (nothing besides Christmas music gets the green light for the missus, anything else is a no-no). But now it’s January, and I can say in all honesty that I’ve already created scratches on the back of disc 1, because I’ve been listening to this album so much. Maybe too much? Is there ever such a thing as too much Chris Unknown?

The music is dope, melodic and dancefloor friendly. Also vocally. The tracks are well produced, well written, and when you get thousands of ravers every week dancing to these tunes and loving them a lot, it means that Chris Unknown is doing it well!

Best track? Crikey. I can’t pick. There are a few outstanding records such as ‘Killa Sound’, ‘Freak’, ‘Shake’, ‘Summer Haze (Dirty Mix)’, ‘I’m Alive’, ‘A Different Stylee’…. basically the whole freaking album! I can’t pick. I choose 17 amazing records, they all rock. They make me loose my cool on the dancefloor, or at home, or whilst driving.

This album should be played out only on maximum volume level. No low noise nonsense. This is really, really, really a good album! Better late then never, eh? Imagine if it got sold out and I never purchased one? I wouldn’t know what I was missing, but those who had a copy knew that one of the best UK Hardcore albums ever would not be heard by me….. and that hasn’t happened. This album has made me feel alive!

You can still get the album though. But hurry up, not for long though.

Just before the year ended I received an album via the mail AND via e-mail. How’s that possible? Well, let me answer your question in a second, but first let me announce the album I received: Stamina Records’ latest album called ‘Who’s Got The Stamina?! [Volume Two]. The long awaited follow-up to the succesfull first instalment, which is nearly sold out, only a handful left in the whole wide world. Hint: get both albums before they are sold out, and you will never ever be able to get these tracks ever again! And if you are a DJ, it’s not a mixed album, it’s an album especially for you!

A couple of days ago I reviewed a mix done by M@rt!n-J, a dedication mix to Stamina Records, which was filled with records from this album. It received the highest score possible, 5 out of 5. It’s logical, because it was packed with awesome tunes. Straight after typing the whole review I decided to purchase the album myself, because I bought the first one and was highly impressed, and I didn’t want to miss out on this new album.

After purchasing the album via Stamina’s own webstore, I received a mail saying the downloads were ready?! And I thought ‘what’s going on? I thought I purchased the album itself, not a download album?’. Turns out you pay for not only the physical album, but you also get all the tracks as a wave file! You just go to the Stamina webstore, and you get the download. It’s as easy as one, two, three.

So basically you pay for one album and you get it twice. But what an album it is! It’s worth every penny, and if you are part of the Purple Revolution, you get even more (see Stamina Records’ Facebook page for more information).

11. Skinny & Darwin – Like A Boulder

There are too many great anthems on here, it’s probably Freeform’s greatest album of the year. Name another album this great, this good. Come on, accept the challenge and name one!

The album looks great. Loving the colours. MC Obie has done a smashing job with the artwork (he always delivers), and it makes the album stand out compared to other bland albums. Not only does it look good, it sounds good too! 2 discs filled with 22 tracks from artists such as Skinny, Darwin, Marc Smith, A.B, Finnbarr, Substanced, and more. What could you ask for?

Liking this album a lot! Not only bound to Freeform, it touches several styles. It’s good that Stamina promotes not only the well known artists but also the upcoming acts, names I’ve never heard of before, but from now on I will and must. Listen to Aethral’s song ‘Reminiscing’, or Tamerax’s ‘Rise’. Beauties, that’s what they are.

What’s my favourite record on this album? Crikey, that’s difficult. There are a few. ‘Magicka’ is epic, ‘Beauty And The Beat’ just astonishingly good, ‘Shudder’ a dancefloor smasher, ‘Rise’ beautiful, and I could go on an on. Ok, let me pick one. ‘Magicka’. Everything is just perfect. And also the drop is bad ass!

I can not mention this in each review, I can’t. This will be the last time I will ever mention this, and hopefully it will have a long lasting effect on everyone: Stamina Records is the world’s greatest Freeform label. They are the best of the best. And for releasing yet another astonishing album that not only looks great but also sounds EPIC I must give the highest score possible:
