Two legendary names in one sentence: DJ Promo and Ghosttown. There’s no introduction needed at all, and I’ve got to say that it has been extremely nice from Dance2Eden to upload Promo’s set from 2008, when they had an extremely killer line-up: The Prophet, Chosen Few, Neophyte, Fuckface, Shadowlands Terrorist DJ Team, Dano, Bountyhunter, Jeroen Flamman, Petrov, and much more. Now that’s a sick line-up. Both of these names (Promo and Ghosttown) are still alive and kicking, and making sure the Hardcore generation get what they need. And this 2008 will be a nice one to listen to this weekend!

Promo is a boss. He’s a genius. He has made so many great anthems: he’s an obvious choice to ask to play at your event. And this 50 minute long set does contain shitload of his own productions, be it originals or remixes. From the old to the older stuff, you do get everything you were hoping for. The tracklist does give me goosebumps: Promo picked so many great anthems, it’s unbelievable. The people at Ghosttown must have had a wonderful night out.

Tracklist, anyone?

Can I just say that this tracklist looks a bit odd? He starts off with his well known stuff, and then towards the end he goes a bit weird? From ‘The Bad Guy’ to ‘The Blood…. Muffin’. And then he goes faster and newskool again. A bit confusing.

I do love it when a mix is diverse, but this is a bit weird. Yeah, Promo has made a lot of awesome mixes and had a shitload of awesome livesets, but to be honest, this is literally not the best one I’ve ever heard. So many errors, and I do mean a lot of errors. It’s confusing: when the man has got so many great skills and expertise, you would literally expect every set to be brilliant. Maybe he had an off day?

It contains a lot of amazing records, the majority by Promo himself. And I’m happy to hear them again. But seriously, this set just jumps from one record to the next. Is it being cut into pieces? Has this been edited? Why does this mix sound so horrible? Just listen to the fading from ‘To Da Bass’ to ‘Lovely Ugly Brutal World’. It does hurt my ears.

The records on their own are great. But this is not what I was hoping for. Too many errors, too many f**k ups. He’s still a legend in my book, and I will forget this mix ever excisted. Terrible.

Best record? ‘To Da Bass’.
