Soundcloud is filled with billions of mixes. It has to be a billion at least. Which means it’s my kind of heaven. Not many mixes are really liked by me as such, the majority is EDM stuff I really don’t fancy, or mixed really badly, but sometimes you find a mix, and before you press play you already judge the mix by a) the name or b) the artist. In this case I saw the name ‘Mark Archer’ and I immediately assumed that it was an oldskool Rave set, filled with dark and nasty tracks. Oh, how wrong was I? This is the complete opposite. If you were looking for a mix which would astonish you, here it is!

No Oldskool Rave music, but lovely Techno/House music. Calm and sophisticated music, music they only play at clubs where you can’t get a bog standard Coke, but only something in a Martini glass. Clubs where something so normal gets called something so posh (and costs you 10 times more). This music suits this club beautifully. But this isn’t what I was expecting, in all fairness. I would be thinking of Oldskool stuff, so Mark’s mix astonished me once I’ve pressed play. And it was indeed a surprise, but a pleasant surprise.

The tunes he picked are all unknown to me, but once I’ve heard them, they’ve entered my heart forever! Beautiful tracks!

tracklist

01. Gnork – Blorp 93
02. Bakradze – Quiet Loop
03. Bakradze – Pool
04. T. Williams & James Jacob – Lacuna Pursuit
05. Felipe Gordon – Mosaico Andino
06. Books – Thing We Do
07. Badradze – Flight
08. Chaos In The CDB – Midnight In Peckham
09. Giovanni Damico – Joy
10. Haarschnitt – Ion 2a
11. Blutch – Anyoma (Pavane Remix)
12. Gnork – Unreal
13. Emeral City – Gemini Lounge
14. Krato Himself –  See What Eyes See

Do you know any of these names? I’ve never heard of any of them, don’t even know how to pronounce half of them. Gnork? Bakradze? Anyhow, it’s all about the music, and the music…oh… the music is heavenly!

RIOT wrote underneath the mix that the first track was one to listen to, and absorb it. Well, they were right. ‘Blorp 93′ is definately one of the greatest records ever made! So much depth, full of emotions… basically everything you want music to be. This track has blown me away, and I thought that this was the best bit of the mix….

I was wrong. The whole mix is just superb. Quality tunes, and mixed together seemlessly. Nothing to mention which could affect the outcome of this mix, there’s nothing, and I do mean nothing, wrong with this mix. I’ve heard several Mark Archer mixes in the past, and they were all Oldskool mixes, but this tops everything. This is quality over quantity.

I can not point out how awesome these tunes are. ‘Blorp 93’ is just magnificent. But even ‘Gemini Lounge’, or ‘Flight’, or ‘Ion 2a’. You’ve got to hand it to Mark, he knows which tracks to pick, and how to please the listeners.

Yep, it’s a fact. Mark Archer is a God. If you can listen to this mix without shedding a tear, you are inhumane. This will create emotions you haven’t felt in a long time. Breathtaking. Stunning. Excellent!

2015 was a brilliant year for me. During the year I discovered new music, new artists, and the one that made the year more special was a new artist called Attlas. To me he was the biggest surprise, and what he did to the music scene was so unique and refreshing, he became an instant hit. The two mixes you can find on his Soundcloud page were listened by thousands of people, more than 100k+ people listened to these wonderful mixes (the ones I’ve reviewed) and I can say in all honesty that I’m probably responsible for most plays. I had to bookmark these sets, and whenever I want to hear them, I just press play and the mood changes completely. The same with his latest mix, this is such a superb set, this is a game changing set.

What he does is unique. Minimalistic music and film bits, that’s the best way to describe what Attlas does. Yes, many artists have used bits in tracks, but not as good as Attlas. The way he does it is so unique, he takes the music to the next level. This mysterious person has the capability to single-handedly change the music industry, and I think you should follow the flow that his music generates. Follow his path, the destination will be heaven, I garantee. I’ve never heard anything like this before in my life, so different and beautiful, his sets are the only sets I’ve heard so far which causes me to cry. And I never cry.

Attlas brings the best out of us. If there’s one name you should follow, it’s his. Many artists are well established, but never unique nor refreshing. Attlas does what he wants to do, and the result is that he will be known in the future as the ‘next best thing to happen to the music scene’. His name will be on a list, a list containing names such as James Brown, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and more. He is the biggest name to grow in the scene right now, and if you can, follow him on everything, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, etc. Trust me, his name will be known as one of the greatest artists of the 21st century.

Come on, name someone who can create such a beautiful looking tracklist?! Name one artist!?

Attlas/ATTLAS is a king. He’s the master of creating a legacy which will last a lifetime. This is such a superb set, nothing can come close to Attlas’ genuis-ness. How come only he can create this? Is it because he’s a musical God? Is he actually human, or not? Not many artists have blown me away in the last couple of years, not as much as Attlas did. He has this thing, and many might consider him gifted. He is indeed gifted, gifted with the power of creating a new level of depth in music. Movies and music, they blend well in an Attlas set.

The music is good. Not really a huge fan of Bjork’s voice, but in this mix it was suitable. Normally I would deduct stars (rating) but it doesn’t seem right to deduct anything, seeing as this is the best mix of 2016, and more mixes like this one will follow, according to what Attlas wrote underneath the mix on Soundcloud. Please let it be the truth, we need more mixes like the one you are about to listen to.

Best track? The first two. But the one that takes my breath away has got to be Jeremy Olander’s ‘Lunar’. Such a beautiful track, calm and peaceful. Attlas has picked the best tracks to start this wonderful journey through his wonderful music life.

I love Attlas, can you tell? His music is really great, his mixes are out of this world, and they all make me feel good. For once we’ve found an artist who’s unique and fresh, and his name…. is Attlas. Bookmark this mix, share it with your friends, and let yourself go. Let Attlas take you on an inspirational journey you will remember for a very long time.

As usual, I do browse a lot and had a look on Soundcloud, to see if there were new mixes for me to listen to. I found a couple, sadly no tracklist, so that’s a definate no. I found one, which is an unusual mix, made by someone I’ve never heard of: Father Dude. Not really a proper mix, more a teasing mix. Filled with own productions, so if you have never heard of him before (like me), it’s a good introduction. Father Dude, who’s he? There isn’t much info on his Facebook page, it only says that he sings to Epic R&B, Chill and Electronic, he’s a vocalist, and he’s from New York. That’s all. So let’s sit back and see if his mixtape is any good.

After hearing it for the first time, I was blown away! Such a mellow mixtape! Exactly what I was looking for. Father Dude sings throughout the whole mixtape, and his voice is quite soothing. Rich voice, sings right from his heart. A unique voice, and I do love it. Expect only the best, and you won’t be disappointed. I haven’t heard of Father Dude before, but I will from now on follow him. He has got such a good voice, pleasant to listen to. If you want to hear how he sounds like, you can and should go to Soundcloud, and press play.

Tracklist is quite important,isn’t it?

WOW! Normally I would say ‘wow’, but this time it’s worth to be written in capital letters. This wasn’t something I was expecting to hear when I started my computer this morning!

Absolutely fantastic mixtape! This is such a fresh sound, unique and, if you are a woman, quite sexy. The tracks are solid, and Father Dude’s voice fits each track perfectly! I’m not talking technical terms, I am not a vocalist-expert, but I do know that Father Dude’s voice is the next best thing! Fantastic voice.

He makes each track much more beautiful. He gives each track character. Normally I wouldn’t listen to this, but I gave it a go, and now I’m hooked. This is beautiful.

There are too many great tracks in this mixtape, I can not pick one favourite. I can say that I don’t like the last track at all. That’s because I know the original, and I really don’t like the original at all. I forgot who did it, but it’s one of those tracks that will haunt you all day. Not a good track. Sorry Father Dude, but no version can make this dreadful track better.

A good mixtape. Serious stuff. This is the perfect mixtape to listen to when you are driving in your convertible on the highway, towards a sunny destination. Or when you are sipping a cocktail on the beach. You can listen to this when you are at the North Pole, but it doesn’t have the same effect. I will listen to this when I’m driving to work, and I reckon the journey is going to be epic.

Father Dude. A name you should bookmark!
