With my blog, I discover new artists every day. And I do mean new artists. Yes, I don’t only listen to music by new artists, I also listen to whatever is uploaded onto Soundcloud/Mixcloud, but that’s the beauty of Sound/Mixcloud: the music that’s put on it, can be literally everything. It’s not only a platform for the well established names, it’s also a place for newbies to come and show their skills! One of those names I discovered yesterday was Innovative. Never heard or seen the name before, but if you have a set, which was recorded at Harmony Of Hardcore, you know this name is one you need to look out for!

Harmony Of Hardcore is one of the biggest Hardcore events in the Netherlands, and for those who love and embrace Hardcore, it’s the place to be. This year it took place on the 3rd of June in Veghel. And many people had a great time. The line-up was tremendous, and the response after was extremely good. And this is the first set of HoH I found on Soundcloud. Innovative might be new to me, but their set was interesting enough for me to give them one like. But who are behind Innovative?

It’s a duo, Frank W. and Bas T. They are Innovative. And they have released a few records on the mighty Industrial Strength Records. So it’s a duo we should look out for. But what did they offer the ravers at HoH? Well, it’s time for you to see the tracklist!

This is a tracklist and a half. Proper Millennium stuff, including a few tracks by Innovative themselves.

I like the tracklist a lot. It’s a thing of beauty. I like the Millennium Hardcore side of things a lot. This is kind of music I grew up with, listening to this a lot. The tracks Innovative have selected are really the creme of the creme, or however the French would say it. They start of with one amazing dark and edgy record, and it continues like this for the rest of their set.

Again, if you play at Harmony Of Hardcore, you are there for a reason. They wouldn’t let shite DJs/duos play there. And after hearing this mix I know for sure that they are worth their place in the Hardcore scene.

Best records of this liveset? Angels Of Darkness with ‘The Scorpion King’. What a true anthem! Haven’t heard it for years, but how good is this record?Really good.

I really enjoyed their set. There were a few mixing/cross fading errors, but they are manageble.

Check out their liveset. It’s worth to listen to on this dreadful and boring Friday!

Dance Valley took place, and many people are recovering from it. Only a handful are still on fire, and are still on a buzz, keeping the good memories alive. One of those people is Miss Hysteria. She uploaded a After DanceValley mix the other day, and it’s an amazing one. As one of the DJs playing there, she played in the area which was focussed on the Freestyle side of it all, and amongst some of the biggest names they must have destroyed the area (Kutski, Critical Mass, Kasparov, Royal S, Potato, and many more). Hardcore was well represented there, so for those who think Dance Valley is only focussed on boring music, you are wrong!

Dance Valley is one of the biggest events in the Netherlands, and it’s still one of the most known ones in the world. To play there must have been an experience, but for someone who’s signed to one of the biggest labels in the Hardcore scene (Enzyme Records) it must be a normal thing. She must have played at all the biggest events, even though her name didn’t really ring a bell at first (I was thinking of another female artist from the 90s who had a similar name, but that wasn’t her). But after hearing this ‘aftermix’ I’ve immediately pressed ‘like’ on her Facebook page, she gained a fan for life!

The mix is really tough! Not for the faint hearted people. This is rough, tough, and exactly what I wanted to hear.

tracklist TCD

01. T-Junction – Stomp
02. A Decade Of Enzyme Mashup
03. Cruel Intentions – Arroganza
04. Dither – Hammer Jammer
05. Ophidian – The Rain
06. Cruel Intentions vs Rapture – Stockholm Syndrome
07. Angerfist & N-Vitral – Fist In Your Face
08. Unexist – Extermination
09. AniMe – Liar
10. Miss Hysteria & Ophidian – Nothing Waits
11. Deadly Gins & Predator – The Surge
12. Noize Suppressor – Disco Balls
13. Neox – Bad Person
14. Dyprax & Norphine – Don’t Fear Death
15. Miss K8 – St8ment
16. Dither – Haka
17. Nosferatu & Tha Playah – Fade To Nothing
18. Synapse & Sei2ure – Ghetto Kung Fu

When a mix puts a huge smile on your face, that’s always a good thing. I found this mix today, and immediately pressed play (whilst being at work) and the small earplugs already started making a distorted noise. I think this mix blew them up completely. Damn, that’s a good sign!

She starts with an excellent ‘stomping’ record, and the records keep on coming. It’s an ongoing movement that makes your body move. You can not control yourself, you can not sit still. And it’s got a nicely diverse tracklist too. But what brings the biggest smile on my face? The mashup of Enzyme records’ greatest records! I am a huge Enzyme fan, I love the early stuff a lot. That’s when they showed me that this label is seriously insane, and brutal, and doesn’t take any prisoners.

If she played as rough as she did here, she was playing in the wrong area. She should have been playing at the Hardcore area. But I didn’t organise the event, so it ain’t up to me. But she definately brought the Hardcore to those who have already listened to this mix, and to those who are going to listen to it right now. It’s a slamming mix, one that will make you rave throughout your bedroom/living room/wherever you are.

Miss Hysteria, you’ve got a fan. This mix is blinding! And the tracks really good. A bit on the harder side, but that’s what the die-hard Hardcore fans want to hear. If they want to hear soft music, they can always play the radio and hear the regular top 40 shite. If they want to listen to well educated and made music, press play now!

In April most of the Dutch culture will seize to excist. No clog wearing people, no cheese eating, no fingers in dikes (pun intented) or living in windmills, we are embracing our true colours. As many of you lot know, the Dutch are originators when it comes to Hardcore music, and from there it took over the world, and today it’s been listened to by millions. From a cult following to mass following: Hardcore isn’t just an underground thing anymore. Hardshock Festival is there for those who have embraced the culture, and want to have one amazing experience. So on the 15th of April, be sure that you are at Almere Strand.

Penta is going to be there. He’s rocking the Voltage area,  And as you know, I’m a huge fan of Penta. You must have seen Penta’s interview last year? Click the link to read it, and read the interesting interview. Anyway, let’s talk about Hardshock and the mix. He’s made a promo mix for you all to get excited, and basically for you to pick the area to go to. It’s the Voltage area. Yes, I’ve said it twice now, but you know it makes sense. The mix contains the finest and roughest tracks money can buy. And yes, they’ve been carefully mixed by Penta. What else do you need?

00. Intro (The DJ Producer – Take Over The World)
01. Tymon – Traps
02. Tripped feat [KRTM] – Fucking Z%tsu
03. Igneon System & [KRTM] – Jack No. 7
04. Penta – Faceoff
05. Radical Redemption & Bloodcage – Killswitch
06. Micromakine – Process
07. Satan – Psycho
08. The Clamps – In My Eyes
09. Penta – War Crimes
10. N-Vitral – Such Kick (Deathmachine Remix)
11. Penta – Are We Worth Saving
12. The Clamps – In The Depths
13. Penta – Hiphop Drop
14. I:Gor – Straight Outta Kielce
15. Penta – Bassdrop
16. Satan – Meat
17. Tripped – Motherf%cking Ninja (Jimmy’s Motherfucking Intermezzo)
18. [KRTM] – George & Jimmy.gif

Wow! Penta’s on a roll! I knew he was making tracks, but he’s on fire now. Maybe an album will be released in the future, if he’s got enough material? I hope he does, because if he does, I’ll be the first to buy it (if he’s already released an album, I’m a shite fan basically for not knowing).

The mix is not for the soft minded people, who want to save the world by listening to Hippy music and snorting washing powder. Get over yourself, who uses powder? It’s tablets nowadays, and it’s hard to snort them up your nose. Anyhow, you ain’t going to like this if you think that Tiesto plays hard music, or think that Justin Bieber is God. The true God is the Wizard, and if you are a die hard fan, you know what I mean.

The mix is tight. The tracks seriously insane. I’m digging this mix a lot. Penta can’t stop making awesome mixes, if truth be told. He’s the one you need to follow, as I said in the interview. Penta brings us Hardcore like never before, and yet I can sense influences from different artists, such as Promo. Which is a good thing. But the end result is unique and refreshing, which leads up to an awesome mix.

If this doesn’t persuade you to go to Hardshock, you ain’t hard enough. I can’t go, wish I could, and shake this man’s hand. He’s a legend. Rough, raw, and fucking on the spot. Penta, put money on this kid, he’s the future.

Best record? ‘War Crimes’. Why? Just because. Listen to it and you will know why.

Ps. thanks Penta for making my ears bleed. This music has literally penetrated my ears, and made them bleed. I will send you the invoice for the purchase of medical things to stop the bleeding.

Sometimes you want the music which comes through your speakers to be a bit rougher and tougher, and I think I’ve found a mix for those like their music just as hard as they are. This is not music for the faint-hearted, this is only for those who like the BPMs to come at them like a machine gun. Nope, not as fast as Terror, but close, very close. I’m talking about Industrial Hardcore, and this mix has been made by Igneon System, one of the leading figures within the Industrial Hardcore scene.

Igneon System does not need an introduction, and if you are wondering who’s behind the name, you should look the information up yourself. Go to his Facebook fanpage, and have a look yourself. We will be talking about the mix, how about that?

The mix is packed with tracks which are the best of 2016, according to Igneon System. This is obviously his own choice, these are the tracks of 2016 which made him think ‘hey, this one’s a slammer’. He could have made a mix full of his own tracks, but he didn’t. A nice mix filled with a nice variety of artists, such as I:Gor, DJIPE, Dolphin, Sei2ure and more. So you are warned prior to hearing this mix: this mix is dope. Tight. And most importantly: it’s brutal!

01. Deformer – Extreme Deformity (N-Vitral Remix)
02. Somniac One – Forsaken

05. Sei2ure – Vibrator
06. The Outside Agency – Bulletproof

12. Sei2ure – Massive On The Bass
13. I:Gor – Straight Outta Kielce

16. Innominate – The Price You Pay
17. I:Gor – Zero Fucks Given

31. Xaturate & Miss Hysteria – Rotten
32. Igneon System – Dropkilla
33. Dolphin – Mimesis

Wow. Simply wow! How he managed to squeeze in 33 tracks in a 49 minute long mix I don’t know. But it’s impressive. And tight, very tight.

Igneon’s selection of tracks is really a good one. He’s got a point: these tracks are indeed good. He obviously had to chuck in a few of his own tracks, to balance it out. And the result is a very cool mix. It has to be said that this mix will lead up to brain damage, or any other injury you can get from listening to Industrial Hardcore. Don’t believe me? Look at the picture above this review (or the one used for this mix in the Soundcloud player): look at the amount of blood?! That’s what you can expect, and it will happen to you during this mix.

Can talk for hours about this mix, but I simply won’t. I will let the mix speak for itself, because it doesn’t need any credits: it’s already a 5 out of 5 stars. Carefully mixed, carefully selected tracks… what else do you need? Press play, what are you waiting for?

Igneon System’s mix. Not only the best tracks of 2016, but also a contender for ‘best mix of 2016′. It’s THAT good!
