Only yesterday this was uploaded, and already it has reached around 5.000+ plays within 24 hours! How amazing is that? Well, if I’m honest, it’s a mix by two legends in the Dutch music industry: Paul Elstak and Panic. And now you are wondering what the mix is about? Well, it’s a promotion mix for what Paul Elstak does nowadays, pushing his ‘I Love Beatz’ forward, which is a freestyle concept of the man himself. And at this year’s Sunglow event they will push this concept forward, and to get everyone excited, they’ve uploaded a mix yesterday, time enough for you to get excited and ready for this event (which takes place on the 9th of September, and there are still tickets available).

The line-up looks really, really good, let me showcase a few: B-Front, Deetox, D-Fence, Rob & MC Joe, Miss K8, Ran-D, Regain, Ruffneck B2B DJ Rob, Sub Zero Project, and of course Paul Elstak. But he’s doing a set alongside JeBroer. If you are not Dutch and don’t know what this collaboration means, well… I reckon they made the anthem of 2017. “Kind Van De Duivel” is the anthem of 2017, without a shadow of a doubt. Many will dance the night away, whilst hearing this tune coming out of the speaker. It’s kind of different when you are not Dutch and don’t know what the lyrics are about, but it’s about the music, eh?

But let’s not forget DJ Panic, who also contributed to this mix. Together they made a very interesting mix. And this Freestyle sound is getting bigger, and better. I don’t know if this style is getting more populair around the world, I do know it’s very big in the Netherlands, but I’ve not heard it in the UK yet. Give it some time and it will.

In the meantime, get excited about this tracklist.

It might look like a very long tracklist, and the mix won’t fit your standard CDR, but the time flies by. Especially when the party mode is on. And that’s what Panic and Paul Elstak do best. Since the early 90s these legends have been pushing music forward, changing the landscape of Hardcore.

The line-up for this Sunglow event looks good, and this mixtape is also extremely interesting. You go from one extreem to the next, no bullshit, the party mode is on. A few ‘hands in the air’ moments, and sing along bits, which leads up to a very entertaining mix. I know you all will appreciate this mix.

There are so many great anthems in here, like ‘Like A Drum’, ‘Afbreken’, ‘Mashup 6.0’, ‘Kind Van De Duivel’, ‘Skum’, ‘Helium’, and the list goes on. But which record does the most for me? Well, ‘Uncle Fucker’. I love D-Fence’s no nonsense approach to Hardcore.

Paul Elstak and Panic, together for one mix. A dangerous mix. Some tracks might be too damn cheesy, and some are much better than the original. It’s worth listening to it again and again.

DJ Pat B’s Soundcloud is a page of beauty, if you love Freestyle/Jumpstyle/Hardstyle. Not only will you find tracks on there, but also full length mixes, in which he goes absolutely bonkers. For example his latest BoomBastic episode: 29 tracks in a 59 minute long mix! How will you find the time to stand still and understand what just happened? But don’t think that only his Soundcloud page is awesome: you should check out his Facebook page, on which he shows us projects he’s been working on. They could be released, or not. It’s all one happy thing, isn’t it? Pat B has probably the most cheerful smile in the whole scene, and it’s addictive. How can you not like Pat B?

Only uploaded a day ago, but already 1.2k+ listens already. People seem to like what he does, and so does TCD (me). Pat B’s passion and dedication is addictive, and you can tell that he really, really loves the movement he leads. I don’t disagree, this Freestyle movement is really happy and cheerful. Sadly I haven’t been to an event where they play Freestyle music, and the next couple of weeks/months I won’t be able to anyway (surgery on my kidney), but when everything has healed I will go and see a Pat B set. I must. Have you seen his videos, where the crowd goes absolutely bonkers? That’s basically what happens in each and every video online.

He might lead the scene, but he’s still a normal dude. One that sometimes takes things seriously , but sometimes he just mucks about (like the track he made, in which he used The Darkraver’s vocals). Don’t know how, but Pat B’s success is a formula unknown to many. But I think the main thing is, to have fun. And I had fun listening to this mix!

06. Bestien – Git It Girl
07. Pat B – Hands Up For Boobies
08. Mark With A K & Robert Falcon – Warrior
09. Orphan & DV8 Rocks! – De Fanaat

29. The Beatkrusher feat MC Alee – Lekker Knetter

This is crazy. Really crazy. Such a wicked and cheerful mix, it can’t make you stop at all. Yes, it might be a bit cheesy from time to time, but not as cheesy as the previous review of Da Tweekaz’s Defqon.1 liveset I did an hour of so ago.

This is what Pat B does best. Cramn as many records in an hour long mix as he can, and make them diverse as possible. And if possible, even quirky. And he’s managed to do exactly that. ‘Love Popcorn In My Nose’? What a name. ‘Derp Motherfucker’? ‘Much Better Macarena’.? How does he come up with thos weird titles. And let’s not forget ‘Hands Up For Boobies’. You might like this record, unless you are not a booby man/woman, but a leg or arse fan.

It does go quirky from time to time, and sometimes it’s serious. The best record is ‘Warrior’. Love the vocals, love the track in general.

Which track isn’t my thing? Well, ‘Ring Of Fire’. That’s too cheesy for me. The original is already dull and makes me want to put MDMA in my butthole, but this version is even worst lol. It might be different when you hear it at a big event.

DJ Pat B made sure that we have an awesome weekend. Make sure you download this right now. This will make your weekend even better.

I only found this mix yesterday, and I was one of the first people to listen to it, and literally go ape during the mix. It’s a promo mix for upcoming Free Festival, a festival that doesn’t need an introduction. This year’s edition takes place on the 1st of July, at Almere Strand, the Netherlands. And I reckon you already purchased tickets, because on Facebook it says that 3.8k people are going. You are probably going to the Hardcore bit, where Angerfist, Korsakoff, Miss K8, Destructive Tendencies, Scarphase, Dr. Peacock and more play. Or to the Hardstyle area, where you can find Radical Redemption, Wildstylez, Atmozfears, Crypsis and more. Or, as the Dutch would say, ‘doe eens gek’ and visit the Foolish area, at which DJs such as Darkraver, Ruthless, The Viper, Technoboy, Tuneboy, Bass-D and more play. Oh, and also Kit Hype, who I’ve sadly never heard before.

This mix is for those who are going to visit the Foolish area, and it’s a beautiful looking area. With so many great names, it’s a must see area. How can you avoid this area, when they’ve got so many great names? Yeah, i know, it will be difficult, because the whole line-up for the event looks amazing. Every area is a must go to, but just for your consideration, check out this mix. And you will immediately be drawn towards the Foolish area, you will. And guess who’s playing there? That’s right, the DJs who made this promo mix.

The tracklist is a beauty, random as hell. Not your ordinary tracklist. Name one mix in which they jump from style to style with ease, and even cram in some Hardcore in the middle of the mix?

33. Dr. Phunk, Paul Elstak & JeBroer – Kind Van De Duivel (The Viper’s Hardcore Edit)

This is one amazing tracklist! How diverse is this? This is what Freestyle represents: do whatever you like, play whatever you like, as long as it gets the crowd jumping up and down, and causing earthquakes.

This mix does exactly what you want it to. It demolishes you. It changes you into this creature feared by many. The way this mix is build-up, is immense. You don’t know which track comes next, or what kind of style it represents. It’s like a tsunami, wave after wave hits you!

The Viper obviously knows how to please the listeners, he’s a well established name in the industry, but Kit Hype is new, but he leaves a good impression on me. His tunes can also be found in this mix, which makes the mix even more dangerous!!

There are so many records to choose from, but this mix introduced me to one of the most amazing records ever made: ‘Locust’. Seriously, the level of filth can not be topped by any other record in this mix. Sadly played too short, this track deserves more time. I reckon when they play it at Free Festival, the crowd will loose it.

The Viper and Kit Hype, you’ve delivered an amazing mix! I sadly can’t go to Free Festival, but you, the reader, should. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t. Let this mix put you in the right direction….

Damn. Damn. Damn. What I’ve just found on Soundcloud will blow your mind away! A liveset, which is basically the biggest megamix for Jumpstyle/French Tek you’ve ever heard! This set you’ve probably heard before on Soundcloud, it already has 29.8k+ plays. And it would be weird if it didn’t reach this amount of plays. This set was recorded at Reverze back in 2011, and it was an amazing event, according to those who have been. The set you are about to listen to (maybe again) was only around 45 minutes long, but these three artists made sure you witnessed something unusual. 88 records in 43 minutes. Come on, give them credit for making a megamix like that!

Q-ic, Lethal MG and Ruthless do not need an introduction at all. French Tek and Jumpstyle lovers do know the names, and the records they have made. A few of their own productions can be found in this set, and let me warn you: before you realise it, the mix is over. Time does fly by too damn quickly, and some tracks are sadly played too shortly. But what can you do if your name is Q-ic, Ruthless or Lethal MG and your set is only 45 minutes long? Put as many records in as you can. Mess everyone up. Give them a night to remember!

The tracklist… pff, that will take a while for me to copy it exactly. But here it is:

Sweet Lord, this is too much! Seriously too much. You can’t get your head around the fact that they picked so many anthems, crammed them in a 43 minute long set, and made it work. If you were dancing on the dancefloor at Reverze back in 2011, this set must have blown you away!

But seriously, how do you dance to such a set, when you skip from one record to the next within 30 seconds? And you can not prepare yourself for the music, because the beats, basses and melodies come at you non stop. How’s that possible?

The tracklist has got amazing records in their, but in the actual set there’s no time to waste, so they jump literally from one to the next. It’s a rollercoaster ride which you are experiencing. Some bits are extremely pleasant, but some are just too hard and rough. But that’s just me.

I got flashbacks to the good ol’ days of French Tek/Jumpstyle etc. When the music was great, new, and not ruined by the commercial side of it. This set contains so many great anthems, it’s too damn hard to pick just one favourite. There are several. If you know me, you know which ones.

A good set, really enjoyable. Some bits are too rushed, but then again how else would you cram so many records in one mix? The end result is good, and it will make your dull Sunday morning turn upside down. More of these mixes please, more megamixes, there aren’t many out there with shitloads of records in it like this one!
