For those who have missed it, there’s a new radioshow you should check out! It’s called ‘The Connection Radioshow’, and it’s aired on Touku FM every Friday at 5pm UTC, and the show is hosted by Seeds Of The Upcoming Infection. You might be wondering who this artist is, well, there’s a very long list on his Facebook page, but it’s basically this: he’s a Spanish producer who makes Mainstream Hardcore music, and who owns  his own label ‘A Nation Of Distortion’ and co-owns ‘Decikore Records’. If you want to know what kind of music he makes, you should press play and hear his own stuff being played during his own radioshow. Worth your time, I would say.

You might not have heard of Touku FM before, but don’t worry, it’s a brand new internet radio station. According to their own website, it was founded in 2015 with a wealth of experience raging from online radio and media to anime inspired music and Japanese culture. Hence the name of the station being not English lol. And every Friday you can listen to SOTUI’s show. His first radioshow was uploaded onto Mixcloud a couple of days ago, and not only did SOTUI play a lot of his own stuff, he also had a guest DJ who goes by the name of Lissaardo. There isn’t much info regarding this DJ, so we’ve got to proceed to the next step, which is the tracklist.

This tracklist is something I don’t see very often. Most tracks were unknown to me, but that doesn’t make it less special. It’s worth your time, if you have an hour spare. The show starts with banging Hardcore, and halfway through it switches to Lissaardo’s set which is focussed on the happier side of Hardcore, and is filled with UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore music.

An unusual tracklist, because I don’t see tracks like this is any of the other mixes I review. But still exciting! Always keep your ears open for new music, and when new music does arrive, don’t be afraid or hesitate to turn the volume up to the max.

The first bit was mixed by SOTUI a.k.a. Seeds Of The Upcoming Infection (what a name?!). It’s full on Hardcore, and I’m liking it a lot. Quite surprising to find an unknown producer amongst the thousands of ‘producers’ who can make me rave in my living room. It’s such a good mix, and I’m hooked to his style.

The second bit was mixed by Lissaardo, and it’s packed with funny and happy Hardcore tunes. My knowledge of anything abroad (besides the UK and NL) is limited, so during this mix some voices keep shouting stuff in a foreign language, I don’t have a clue what they are saying, but it’s funny. Sounds funny. I reckon it’s Japanese? If it isn’t, I do apologise.

I never knew there were still producers out there who make Happy Hardcore. It sounds amazing, but sometimes a bit cheesy lol. Too cheesy for me.

The SOTUI section is amazing, liking the vibes. The Lissaardo section is good too, but sometimes a bit too happy for my liking. Maybe I’m not a happy person,or maybe I need to listen to more of this kind of music to appreciate it more.

A good radioshow. Never heard of it before, but it’s never too late to learn, eh? If you are unable to listen to the show live on Fridays, you can check out SOTUI’s Mixcloud page, on which he uploads every episode of his radioshow. This is only the first, and many will follow. Liking ‘The Connection Radioshow’.

A week or so ago DJ JAJ had the honour and privilige to have DUNE as his guest on Vibez 2 Da Core. Already episode 31, it’s going well for mister JAJ, who has had many guests on his show like Al Storm, T-Ty & Kullere, Eufeion, S3rl, Bananaman & Gisbo, and many more. But for his 31st episode he asked the legendary Dune to send in a guest mix, and I have to be honest to you all, during the 90s I was a huge Dune fan. I was one of the first to buy their album, and I could sing along every song on it. And this is nearly 20 years ago since they released ‘Dune’, which was and still is an amazing album. Sadly I am unable to play it, due to the amount of scratches on it, but I still have it, and I will never throw it away. It’s part of my youth, listening to Happy Hardcore (I was and still am a huge Happy Hardcore fan). So when JAJ had Dune on his show, a huge smile emerged on my face, because it’s Dune!

The first half of the show JAJ plays his mix, which is filled with Happy Hardcore tunes from start to finish. More focussed on the UK side of it all, but still good. Dune’s section is more focussed on the European side of Happy Hardcore, with a few UK tracks and a few Hardcore/Gabber tracks. Not what I was expecting, but still good. I was hoping that the mix was filled with only Dune tracks, but that’s not the case. A much more diverse mix is what we hear, and it’s banging.

Can’t believe he had Dune as his guest! That’s amazing! And the tracklist is also very good looking! Diverse, and really good!

13. Brisk & Trixxy – Eye Opener
14. Hixxy & Sharkey – Toy Town (In Ya Face Mix)
15. Force & Styles – Apollo 13
16. DJ Paul Elstak & Mental Theo feat Gin Dutch – Raving Beats

01. 2 Unlimited – No Limit
02. The Partysquad & Boaz – Oh My
03. Coldplay – A Sky Full Of Stars (Re-Style Bootleg)
04. SMD – SMD#5 (Slipmatt’s Dub Plate Mix)

08. Dune – Million Miles From Home
09. Dune – Hardcore Vibes
10. SMD – SMD#2 (Vibes & Hattrixx Remix)

14. Rave Nation – Going Crazy
15. The Viper – Control The Refix
16. Waverider – Outer Space
17. Max Enforcer – Lost In Paradise
18. 3 Steps Ahead – Drop It (Like It’s Hot) (Paul Elstak & Radiate Bootleg Refix)
19. Dune – Can’t Stop Raving (The Viper & Evil Activities Raving Bootleg)

Wow. Will you look at this? Isn’t this amazing? Yes, it clearly is. A very good looking tracklist, and a very good mix. Both JAJ and Dune have selected a lot of anthems. Even though Dune’s set is different (from Happy Hardcore to Hardstyle to banging Hardcore), it still rocks.

The first half of the show JAJ plays the finest UK Happy Hardcore tunes. A nice selection, and nothing wrong with it. Only one thing to say about this kind of music, and that it’s a bit cheesy. A remix of 99 Red Balloons? That’s a huge lol. Cheese-factor 100! But still acceptable.

The second half is filled with awesomeness. Only 3 Dune tracks, but the three best were selected. When ‘Million Miles From Home’ started, I got goosebumps. This track took me back to the 90s, this is Happy Hardcore at its best. But after this track, the most famous Dune track ever is played, ‘Hardcore Vibes’. You can not organise/throw a party and not play ‘Hardcore Vibes’, such a monster anthem.Thousands of remixes were made, but the original version can not be beaten.

Best track? Well, without a shadow of a doubt there are 3. And they are all Dune tracks. Even the remix by The Viper and Evil Activities is excellent. I love Dune, I really do.

Any bad tracks? Well, 99 Red Balloons is quite funny, but not really a classic anthem.

A good episode. Vibez 2 Da Core has done it, created a very good episode. One to be proud of. Give this mix a go, it won’t disappoint you. Really good, and it might bring back memories.

Why can’t it be 1995 again?

It’s been 2, nearly 3 years since we last were amazed by a new phenomena on Facebook/Youtube. A video emerged, obviously focussed on the harder styles, but what was it? We were guessing, anticipating, and after a couple of days we were rewarded with a free album, which had 21 free tracks on it. In the meantime they also released another album, which I completely missed, which was called ‘Rebellious’, which had 30 tracks on it, made by well established names in the industry. Now they are back with a brand new album, containing 26 tracks, and again it’s all for free. Ps. if you want the previous albums, you can go onto Soundcloud and find them all.

On this album, you can find a lot of wicked tunes made by artists such as AniMe, Tommyknocker, Alien T, Nosferatu & Art Of Fighters, Mad Dog, Tha Playah, Neophyte, The Viper, Meccano Twins, Andy The Core and more. You might wonder why these artists decided to give away free music?! Well, This Is Hardcore is a devoted collective of world class Hardcore artists and fans. If you realy want to know the reason behind TiH, you can watch a documentary (which you can find on their website), and all will become clear. But to be brutally honest, it’s an amazing underlying thought that keeps these guys/girl going. They’ve changed the Hardcore scene completely, and the result is astonishing.

It’s a good time to release a new free album, seeing as the Summer is about to start, and many festivals are planned in the upcoming months, so many occassions for Hardcore lovers to see and hear their most favourite artists. To make sure that everyone knows the reasons why they’ve started this collective, this album can be downloaded right now, and played out loud. Hardcore is here to stay, and it doesn’t have the intention to leave any time soon. Hardcore is a way of living, and if you are already a fan, you know why this sound does so much to us. If you are unaware of its strength, make sure you download this, and experience a new world, a world focussed on bringing you the finest and hardest music available.

Tracklist anyone?

It’s nice to see the well established amongst the few unknown names. A nicely balanced album, and the quality starts from the first second to the last. Let’s not forget and not underestimate this album: producers have given their all to create these anthems, don’t think that it’s free and it’s shit. The tunes are all quality, and carefully made.

Too many great anthems are on this album. It’s really difficult to choose one. But to me the best of this album has got to be ‘It’s Coming’ by Fear Factor. A stunning track by someone I’ve never heard of. Not too hard, not too soft, not too rough, not too soft. Perfect track to play on a sunny Friday.

There are so many solid records on this album, it’s unbelievable how they managed to come up with yet another album and making it all sound fresh, new and exciting. This Is Hardcore is a unique collective, and they keep on reshaping the scene and the sound. I hope they will continue doing what they do best, because what they give us, is fantastic. Quality Hardcore tunes, not for the faintest of hearts, only for the die-hard fans. This Is Hardcore is here to stay!

Only one score for yet another mindblowing album!

This weekend the only city you need to be in, is Almere. On the 18th of April Bass-D is celebrating his 42nd birthday alongside a couple of his friends. Their intentions? To destroy the dancefloor. And obviously making sure that Bass-D will have a fantastic birthday. 27 years behind the decks is quite the achievement, and to get everyone hyped up, he has uploaded a wonderful megamix (as usual) onto his Soundcloud. If you don’t have tickets, I suggest you get them right now, but if you are female, you are lucky, because you can get free entry. Isn’t Bass-D lovely?

The line-up is impressive, and it will be an event which people will talk about for ages after. Want to know which artists will perform in Almere? Rob Gee, Darkraver, Vince, Predator, Buzz Fuzz, Gizmo, Amada, Rheeza, Freeze, Raoul DKC, Scott Marten, Para Italia, Backfire and more (mystery guests). The night is presented by MC Da Mouth Of Madness, and if you want to go, the entry for men is €5,- (til 23:30, after it’s €10,-). A bargain, isn’t it? And the worrying thing is, that this is the only weekend I can not go out, seeing as I’m on a holiday. Damn, why is it his birthday this weekend? Well, it’s going to be a crazy event, with or without me.

To get everyone ready for it, he has uploaded yet another megamix. He does love to create megamixes, doesn’t he? As usual he has used a lot of tracks, 45 to be precise. But this is a very special mix, seeing as it only has tracks in it by artists who are going to perform at his birthday. A crazy mix is the result.

Anthem after anthem in this mix. Fantastic mix, beautifully mixed, and the tracks he has selected are all amazing.

Bass-D has selected the finest tunes in his collection, and the result is an astonishing mix. Some tracks are not played anymore, forgotten about, which is a shame. But thankfully on nights like Bass-D’s birthday bash you can hear those anthems again and again.

Anything wrong with this mix? Nope, not at all. The only thing wrong is the fact that I won’t attend this rave. I am gutted.

Best track? Well, there are a few. ‘Mind Of A Lunatic’ is a good one, ‘BZRK Feelings’, ‘The End Of The Beginning’… and the list goes on. It’s like Bass-D knows exactly what to play for me personally. He always picks the best tracks, and they are all banging, just my cup of tea.

Head to Bass-D’s event page, and find out if you still can get tickets. You are a wappie for not attending (and yes, I am wappie too).
