A couple of days ago I reviewed M-Project’s latest album, but I knew there was more about to happen in M-Project land: not only a brand new album, but also a new production mix, showcasing what he’s been doing. And what he’s not been doing. Well, the ‘not been doing’ bit is rather dull, so let’s focus on what the masked hero is doing at the moment: bringing out good music! A few tracks you get from his latest album ‘Weaponized’ can be found in this mix, and also a few other dancefloor smashers, like the remix he did for Dune, for his latest release ‘Starchild’.

M-Project is always busy. You can follow him on whatever page, and you will never be disappointed. One thing he has forgotten to do is buy socks (I’ve never seen a DJ behind the decks without shoes or socks). Look at the picture above and you will notice straight away that I’m picky. Extremely picky. So it’s going to be a daunting task for M-Project to get a mix extremely right? Well, not really, he’s like King Midas, everything he touches turns into Gold. Like this mix.

As I said you can find a few of the records in this mix on his latest album (which you can read more about here). I urge you to get that album. But if you are unsure, check out this mix, and let this mix persuade you. It won’t let you down!

OK, yet another amazing mix by Japanese finest Powerstomp/UK Hardcore producer. You can tell he’s been a busy bee, and he’s evolving. His music style is slowely getting better and better, like wine. Wine only gets better after putting it away for years. Thankfully that’s not necessary in this particular case, but I like the way he’s going. More professional and more mature UK Hardcore.

There’s a lot of good quality tunes in there, and the one I like from his album was ‘Final Form’. Well, I need to correct myself, the one I really, really like, is ‘Just Be Mine’. These vocals are so extremely catchy, they will stick in your head for days! Or even ‘Checkin’ Da Cutz’, also an amazing record.

Still not a 100% sure about ‘Starchild’. I’m an oldschool Dune fan, from when the Happy Hardcore tunes dominated the charts, and still need to get used to his new direction. Don’t feel the love this record has been receiving.

All in all, a wonderful mix. Quality mix, 22 minutes long, and 10 records thrown right in your face. M-Project is busy getting us all hyped up, and there’s a good reason for that: M-Project is awesome! Is there nothing this man can do that turns awesome in a split second?

I still want to know the man behind the mask. He’s still UK Hardcore’s biggest mystery.

If you don’t know who M-Project is, you should be ashamed. You ain’t into UK Hardcore like the most of us, are you? No worries, it’s time for you to catch up, and know who he is. He’s by far the most succesful UK Hardcore/Powerstomp/Makina DJ/producer from Japan, and his name is known all across the globe. Famous not only for his music, but also for his outfit. You must have seen pictures of him doing weird things, like ironing the side of an escalator? Yep, that’s M-Project. Maybe a bit silly, but shouldn’t we all be a bit bonkers to get through life?

He’s released a brand new album only a week or 2 ago, which is called ‘Weaponized Soul’. A very serious album, if the title is that deep. And on this album he decided to go all the way, and work with the finest names in the industry. And probably the biggest UK Hardcore DJ/producer ever: Scott Brown. Let’s not underestimate the others like Synthwulf, Mitomoro, Relect, and of course S3RL. But Scott Brown! He’s the biggest legend coming out of Scotland, and he’s worked now with someone from thousands of miles away: Japan. Two worlds collided, and let up to this album.

You get this album via GUHROOVY, and only for 1.620 yen (which is around 12 euros), which is a bargain, if I might say so. 10 tracks, highly recommended by TCD (=me). Let me show you the tracklist, it’s a beauty!

tracklist TCD

01. Scott Brown & M-Project – The Revolution
02. MUZIK SERVANT & M-Project – Muzik For Da People
03. Mitomoro & M-Project – F#=k That Beat Up
04. Relect & M-Project – Nothing Makes Sense
05. S3RL vs M-Project feat Krystal – Heart Attack (Eufeion Remix)
06. S-WORX & M-Project – Bass Cannon
07. Synthwulf & M-Project – Final Form
08. M-Project – The Way We Were
09. T4TSUYA & M-Project – Just Be Mine
10. Scott Brown & M-Project feat Krystal – The Spark

Now that’s a tracklist and a half! Bloody Nora, that’s a beauty! A lot of collaborations for mr M-Project. And as I said, working with the Brown man must have been a wish coming true! I’ve seen M-Project doing remixes for him, and also Dune, but to actually collaborate with him must have been truly astonishing. The result are 2 amazing tracks, and one of those tracks is with the talented female singer Krystal.

The music that you get is a wide range of music. A bit of UK Hardcore, a bit of Freeform, a bit of Powerstomp, a bit of Happy Hardcore, literally everything you want. And even though you might think it’s not going to work, M-Project has made it work. How he did it, I don’t know, but his album is a masterpiece. I like literally every track, even the one on which he collaborated with S3RL, who’s not my most favourite producer/DJ ever (his music is too cheesy). I even like that track.

I like the simple yet sufficient album cover, I like the length of the album, I like the way he composed the record, there’s basically nothing you can not like. Everything is just perfect. But what’s the best record? Oh, difficult. I like the Scott Brown record, on which he stays true to his late 90s/early 00s style, but the two which made me smile for miles the most are ‘Muzik For Da People’ and ‘Final Form’. These two records are so good, they made me iron an escalator. And when I say that, it’s a good thing!

A very mature album. I’m digging M-Project’s direction, the path he’s following. This is definately worth the yens, pounds, or euros. Or even dollars. Get this album now via GUHROOVY, this will be the highlight of this Summer. Is this the best album of 2017? Don’t know it yet, the year hasn’t ended. But for now it is!

Ps. here’s a teaser, if you want to get the album and you are interested….

When was it when I last reviewed a Nizzle mix? Not that long ago, was it? I can’t remember, see so many mixes fly by. But for those who have been waiting for it, he’s back with a brand new mix series, called ‘Homegrown and Potent’, alongside Unity MC. At first I thought it was a documentary about how to grow your own plants. You know, I am not wrong, because the picture does show something unusual lol. No plants like those in my garden. Anyway, it’s not about plants, it’s about homegrown acts, giving them a stage they deserve.

The first MC to join this mix series is MC Octane. No introduction needed. Alongside him they made an hour long mix, with tracks by artists such as: Nizzle, Stonebank, Sy & Unknown, Scoot, Technikore, Macks Wolf, etc. You get a mix with three well established names from a wonderful scene, and 23 amazing tracks that will enlighten your Sunday. It won’t be a dull weekend, especially as most of you lot will have the Monday off (I don’t, sadly).

So what can you expect? Madness. And banging tunes coming through your speakers. Only uploaded yesterday, so the plays are low at the moment, but let’s get the plays right up, right now! This mix deserves more credits, so share it with anyone you know. Oh, it’s not downloadable, which is a pity, really wanted to burn this onto a disc and play it whilst driving to work tomorrow (when you all chillax)…. ah well. Let me show you the tracklist, and you will listen to it immediately!

tracklist

01. M-Project & Havoc – Searching For The Stomp
02. Macks Wolf – Orgy Of Terror
03. Jakka B & Summa Jae – Your Love
04. Alex Prospect & Spyro – On A Ragga Hype
05. Major Lazer & Bad Royale –  My Number (Callum Higby Edit)
06. Sy & Unknown – What A Great Drug (Cold Turkey Edit)
07. Bang! – Sail Away (Nizzle Remix)
08. Nizzle – We Be Klubbin
09. Kurt & Bezza – Kiss My Ass Mothaf*cka
10. Technikore – Close The Door
11. Nizzle – The Anthem (2017 Update)
12. Riko – Hard Bass (Demize & Smilez Remix)
13. Neiked – Sexual (Nizzle Remix)
14. Rain Man & Krysta Youngs – Habbit (Dave Castellano Remix)
15. Atmobeats – Echo
16. Nizzle – Audacious
17. Scoot & CS-1 – Run The Night
18. Hotchkiss feat Ceci – Shut Out Of Paradise
19. Joey Riot & Reflux – The Other Side (Macks Wolf Remix)
20. Da Tweekaz feat Matthew Steeper – Tomorrow (Dave PSI & IYF Bootleg)
21. Jake Swann & 4Man – The Journey
22. Stonebank – The Only One (Darren Styles Remix)
23. Sy & Unknown feat Lou Lou – Caught Up In Your Love

You get what you were waiting for. So many unknown tracks (to me), and a few classic anthems. And you get Nizzle, Unity MC and MC Octane! What a gift, this made my weekend even better!

The tracks are all very good, dancefloor smashers. Yeah, the new tracks are good for the dancefloors all over the UK, but come on, we can have a discussion about it, but the one track that still blow our minds into a billion pieces is obviously the last one by Sy & Unknown. Sadly they don’t make tracks like this one anymore….

The MC skills are really good. It keeps the entertainment level very high. No mucking about.

There are a few tiny cross fading errors, but nothing major. Nothing that can make you dislike this mix at all.

Homegrown and Potent, a mix series you must look out for. This won’t disappoint you at all. This will show you how diverse our scene is, and what our scene actually has to offer.

Check it out right now!!!

When a title of a mix(tape) is all in capitals, it must mean it’s fire. I saw this promo video the other week, and I got intrigued. Someone using the word ‘fuck’ so many times, that’s interesting. And also the music in the video was interesting. The name of the person? SPYRO. Yes, you recognise the name, and now there’s no hiding it: he’s after everyone, making sure you get this mixtape and play it out loud, waking up the whole area with his new sound. What does he call his new sound/style? Is it SPYROCore?

Wasn’t he Lethal Theory’s latest signing? And he releases his mix right on time, before the Summer kicks in and people are out and about. People can download this beast right now, and listen to it for months in a row. Why? Because we are the turn generation. If you are not, you are not allowed to download this mix. Read the title, and realise secretly that you are turnt.

Don’t know much about SPYRO, only that he’s made several tracks with Alex Prospect, which I’ve heard in many mixes before. It’s basically his promo mix for this mix that intrigued me a lot. According to the video, he’s in search for a brand new sound, and with this mix he has achieved it. Yes, it’s still UK Hardcore but with a twist. What’s that twist? Don’t have a clue, but it does sound good!

tracklist

01. Intro
02. SPYRO – Diamond Mouth
03. SPYRO – How Deep Is Your Love
04. DJ Snake – Turn Down For What (SPYRO RE-FLEX)
05. SPYRO – Drop It Low
06. Migos – Look At My Dab (Bad Royale & Diplo Remix) (SPYRO RE-FLEX)
07. SPYRO – Throwin’ Hunna
08. SPYRO & Alex Prospect – Heads In The Clouds
09. SPYRO – Gotta Get Lo
10. SPYRO – Original Bad Boy
11. SPYRO – Green Drink Paint Party
12. SPYRO x Alex Prospect – Intoxicated
13. SPYRO – Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit
14. SPYRO & Alex Prospect – Need U 100%
15. SPYRO & Alex Prospect – Up 2 No Good (SPYRO FESTIVAL FLEX)
16. SPYRO – Don’t Let Me Down x Better Off Alone (RE-FLEX)
17. SPYRO – Mad Ting Mashup (Come With Me)

This mix is fire. And yes, it’s unique. The sound that he makes is unusual. It combines several styles into one. Like Gammer did before, but SPYRO perfected it. There’s still no name to it, but if it’s going to be named EDMCore, let me all warn you: months ago I was the first to come up with that term.

Anyway, SPYRO’s mix is indeed fire, but why so short? I don’t know why this mix is so short, I was really digging it, and then I realised that the mix was over. Only 20 minutes long. Why? Most mixes are at least double the length, but maybe it’s to tease people even more, getting hyped up for the sensation that is SPYRO.

What’s the biggest track in this mix? ‘Drop It Low’. Which is the ‘not the best track in this mix’? ‘Up 2 No Good’. Really like the original too much.

The speed at which these tunes hit you is unreal. 20 minutes of SPYRO madness. Have you listened to this mix already? You haven’t? Check it out on Soundcloud, it’s worth all the hype around it. Even me, TCD, got hooked on the ride, and promoted the video on my mainpage. But now the mixtape is out, it’s time for us all to appreciate it. And so should you!

SPYRO. Big mix!
